NASCAR DFS DraftKings FanDuel Lineup Advice: Sonoma Picks 6/24/2018

After having Father’s Day off, NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup series travels to the Golden State of California, where drivers take on the first of two road race courses on the schedule.  Sonoma Raceway is located in Napa Valley and is a 2.52 mile road course.   The other road course is in Watkins Glen, NY in August.

My Top 4 Drivers for the Toyota/Save Mart 350

AJ Allmendinger(DraftKings = $8000, FanDuel=$9100):  Allmendinger was a road racer before becoming a NASCAR driver.  His only NASCAR win came at Watkins Glen.  Although he finished 35th last year due to mechanical issues, he has the skill set to win this race.  He practices and qualifies well, but the final results at Sonoma do not reflect his expertise at road racing.

Kyle Larson(DraftKings = $10600, FanDuel= $10200):  Larson has looked great this week in practice and landed a crucial prize to winning this race, the pole position.  Look for him to pile up the Laps Lead points to your fantasy score as it is difficult to pass on road courses and track position is important.

Clint Bowyer(DraftKings = $9300, FanDuel=$11700):  Bowyer performs very well at Sonoma over his career.   In his twelve starts at Sonoma, he has nine Top 10’s, and won this race in 2012.  He came in 2nd in last year’s race.   Bowyer is having a great year thus far, and look for him to score a Top 5 this race.

Kevin Harvick(DraftKings = $11700, FanDuel=$10600):   Harvick is the top driver this year thus far.  He is the driver to beat every race right now.   He is no slouch at Sonoma as he won this race last year.  He has placed 6th and 4th place in 2016 and 2015 respectively.  He starts 4th, so he can easily work his way towards the front with his road racing experience.

Others to Consider

Jamie McMurray(DraftKings =$7600, FanDuel= $9600):  McMurray is sneaky good at this track.   He has run well this week in practice, and has won three pole positions at this track in his career.  He needs to put together a complete race to get a win.   He finished 10th in last year’s race.

Ryan Newman(DraftKings =$7300 , FanDuel=$8000):  Newman has the reputation as “Difficult to Pass”.  He has seven Top 10’s at Sonoma.   Another good stat for Newman is that his average finish is 12.50, which is 2nd among all active drivers behind Clint Bowyer.  He is a great value to fit into your lineup.
