NASCAR DFS FanDuel DraftKings Lineup Advice: Charlotte Picks 5/27/2018

The Monster Energy Cup Series will run at Charlotte Motor Speedway for NASCAR’s longest race of the season, for the Coca-Cola 600.   Charlotte is another 1.5 mile intermediate racetrack, and this particular race will require some serious stamina from the drivers as this race runs for a grueling 600 miles.

My Top 4 Drivers for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte

Kyle Busch(FanDuel: $11,700, DraftKings: $11,100):  Kyle Busch looks sharp this week as he won the pole position for this race.  Look for him to rack up a lot of Laps Lead points from this position.   Last year, he had a dominant car in this race, but finished 2nd to Austin Dillon, who gambled on a fuel and crossed the finish on fumes.

Kevin Harvick(FanDuel: $13,500, DraftKings: $12,200):  Harvick continued his absolute dominance this year by winning last week’s All-Star race and winning a cool one million dollars.  I expect him to regress soon, as he cannot continue this torrid pace.  However, after failing inspection for qualifying, this means that he starts in the back.   For a dominant driver like Harvick, you can expect him to work his way up to the front, racking up Place Differential points for your lineup.

Martin Truex Jr.(FanDuel: $12,500, DraftKings: $10,700):  The reigning champion is not living up to his 2017 performance.  However, he is still the current king of intermediate tracks and I like to have maximum exposure to Truex in my lineups due his historical and consistent intermediate track performance.   In last year’s Coca-Cola 600, he finished 3rd behind Kyle Busch, who passed him in the final couple of laps of the race.

Daniel Suarez(FanDuel: $9,400, DraftKings: $7,100):  Daniel Suarez finished a close 2nd to Kevin Harvick at last week’s All-Star race.  While it is only an exhibition, this was still an impressive finish for Suarez.   Suarez has a decent car this week as he will start 10th.   In his only two races at Charlotte, he has a respectable 6th place finish in October 2017, and an 11th place finish in last year’s Coca-Cola 600.

Others to Consider

Jimmie Johnson(FanDuel: $9,600, DraftKings: $8,700):  Its hard to overlook the 7-time overall champion in Jimmie Johnson at this racetrack where he has won eight times.   In his last four starts at Charlotte, he has three Top 10’s, including a checkered flag victory in October 2016.

Erik Jones(FanDuel: $10,000, DraftKings: $8,200):  Jones will start in the 4th position as Joe Gibbs Racing has their act together for all of their cars in this race as Kyle Busch starts on the pole, Denny Hamlin starts 3rd, and Daniel Suarez starts 10th.   In last year’s Coca-Cola 600, he finished in the Top 10 with a 7th place finish.
