NBA Fanduel 1/20/15

Last nights lineup won a few and lost a few. I played in a few 50/50’s. I was either a few points over the cut or a few points under. Hope everyone had better luck if you didn’t use my lineup exactly. Only 2 games tonight, which means a lot of the same line ups. I’m going to keep it short today and just get to the lineup…

  • Starting at PG I went with Westbrook and Nelson. Whenever there is only 2 games, its always tough to choose, so my strategy is to take 2 top tier players and build “down”. Westbrook falls into that category.

With Nelson, if you look at his recent game log, he is averaging just over 20 minutes a game and a little over 20FDP. At his price, he’ll probably have one of the higher ownerships percentages, but unless you wanna go with Lawson as your “second top tier” player, Nelson is the only way to go.

  • Usually my general rule with Spurs is to avoid them. You never know when they are going to rest players. But with only 2 games on the slate there isn’t much choice. Manu has been very hit or miss, having games in the 30’s and then one as low as 14 over his last 4. But with D Wade being a question mark, your only other options are Waiters Or Danny Green. I still don’t trust Waiters, and Green is $600 more then Ginolili with similar production.

Afflalo had a bad outing in his last game, but it was against Golden State. Golden State is brutal on shooting guards, see James Harden. So I expect Afflalo to get back to his mid 20’sFDP production tonight.

  • At SF we get to my other top tier guy in Durrant. If you need any convincing as to why you play Durrant, then you shouldn’t playing Daily Fantasy! All kidding aside, he is a monster, and is match up proof to begin with, but has a good match up with the Heat. At home nonetheless.

I’m reading that Deng is questionable tonight, so I may be forced to go with Chandler here. Deng is by far the better option, keep an eye on him, and if you don’t hear either way before tipoff of the early game, put in Chandler.

  • Faired has been in a slump. Mr. Double Double has been Single Single over his last 2. But I expect him to bounce back at home tonight. He only played 20 minutes at Golden State yesterday due to the blow out, so he should be well rested.

Ignoring the game at Golden State, in which he only got 15 minutes, Hickson has been mid 20’s FDP for most of the month. I don’t expect them to get blown out by the Spurs, and like Faried, should be well rested.

  • Talk about limited options at the center position! Whiteside is the best option here, even though he had a bad outing his last time out. Heat haven’t played since the 16th, so the shooters for the heat might be a little rusty, plenty of rebounds to go around. Being rusty doesn’t affect your height, and last time I checked, Whiteside is still a 7 footer. He’ll be good tonight.
