NBA Fanduel Lineup 1/17/15

Good night last night. My lineup won in every 50/50 I entered, even though I fell short of my “benchmark” point total of 270. Another full slate tonight, but not as many “must starts” as last night. SG is particularly shallow. After the top 3; Butler, Thompson, and Harden, the drop off is considerable.

Gotta keep things short today, so let’s get to the lineup..

– At PG tonight I’m going to keep riding Jennings. Having had a 53,45, and 43 FDP in 3 of his last 4 games, he is as close to a no brainier versus the 76er’s tonight as you can get. You could go Williams or Jack at the other PG position. I went Williams simply because Jack is $100 more, and after all my other picks I didn’t have $100 to spend.

– SG, as mentioned above, is fairly shallow tonight. You could go with James Harden and another “dud” SG and hope Harden makes up the difference, or you can do what I did and take the other 2, Butler and Thompson. Golden State is also a difficult matchup for Harden, though he is pretty much matchup proof, Golden State switches on all pick and rolls, and has the personnel to do it well. Harden on the other hand, lives off pick and rolls and isolation plays, so it’s strength versus strength. Klay has been on fire lately, roll him out there with confidence against a weak Rockets defense.

– SF is another shallow position, but I think there is some value to be had here. Covington after a one game absence had a great game last outing. He is a little hit or miss, but the minutes are there and it’s a plus matchup versus the Pistons. At the other spot I went with Ariza. They are going to need him to score tonight as well as defend some of the best offensive players in the league. They might not be able to get him off the floor much, so the opportunity is there for a big game, though it is a tough matchup.

– I’m taking Mr. Double Double Faried again tonight. He missed a double double last night, but he’ll rebound, pun intended, tonight. Gibson at the other PF position is based on Noah missing another game. Check his status tonight. When given the extra minutes, Gibson always seems to step up.

– At the center position, I went back and fort between Gortat and Lopez. I don’t love either guy tonight, but they both have upside. Gortat has not been playing well lately, but he does play better at home, and Nets aren’t exactly a great rebounding team. Point and case, Lopez, who I ultimately decided on, is a big man who scores. Period. His rebounding leaves much to be desired, but with the offensive weapons in Brooklyn, or lack thereof, they need him to score, and that’s what he’ll do. You need no more evidence of that then to look at last nights game versus the team he is playing tonight, the Wizards, he put up 36FDP on them. I’d expect a similar line tonight.

As always, Good Luck. Feel free to comment and tell me what you think of my picks.
