(NFL DFS) Bottom of the Barrel week 9

Anyone ever been so angry they threw something, hit someone or said something inappropriate? If you didn’t just smile and nod then start this article over. As human beings with deal with these things called emotions. I know right? We have two options here. Identify and deal OR no thanks and run. Time to pick a side my friends. #teamdeal or #teamrun? Lets play a quick game. Let’s call it a social experiment. You’re on your own for picking which team you would like to join.

So first up is #teamrun. This is the easiest of all. Geeze, I wonder why? Never facing our problems or issues is always the easiest approach. The more we run and the more we stuff it down the more oblivious we become to the outside world. At some point we realize how rotten we actually are. Horrible and miserable. Next comes the sedatives and tranquilizers. As a Detroit Lions fan trust me, I know about sedatives and being numb inside. Confucius once said, “No matter where you go, there you are” So in turn, how can we EVER out run ourselves? If you‘d like to join #teamrun you’re in for an extended stretch of pain and misery. Some people are into that kind of stuff.

A day off from work or school affords us a few luxuries. At #teamdeal there are a few of which we can’t afford if we’d like to be productive members of society. Honesty and open mindedness are two big ones. I have learned that whatever I choose not to accept will keep kicking my ass until I deal with it. I’m a fan of this old adage, “Most folks are about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” Sure, getting all your problems out and dealing with life on life’s terms is easier said then done but in the long run, better for us. As a member of #teamdeal I must tell you it’s not half bad. If you’re not fan #teamdeal will be happy to refund your misery!

In movies, comic books and in real life it’s always good versus evil. Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker. James Bond vs. Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Michael Myers vs. Laurie Strode. The common theme here is the battle between running or dealing with the issue. Week 9 of the NFL season is similar. The Lions in Green Bay or the Jets at home vs. the Bills. Nasty tough divisional games, men set out with something to prove.

I leave the choice to you, which side do you chose? #teamdeal or are you going #teamrun?

The few days leading up to week 9 have already been wild regarding some trades. I’m dealing with all the information given and I’ve scraped the barrel. I give you Bottom of the Barrel week 9!

Joe Flacco BAL @ TEN (FD-$6,800)(DK-$4,600)
This guy got hammered last week vs. MIA. Again his elite talent and elite healing have lead us here for week 9. All jokes aside, I have an odd feeling about him this week. One of those 3 TD’s game out of no where.

Drew Stanton ARZ @ SF (FD-$6,400)(DK-$4,700)
Under normal circumstances this guy wouldn’t be on my radar. We all know SF stinks and ARZ has a great compliment of WR’s right? He’s as cheap as it gets at QB. Put two and two together people!

C.J. Beathard SF vs. ARZ (FD-$6,200)(DK-$4,900)
The golden boy Jimmy Garoppolo was traded to SF this week. Meaning, this may be Beathard’s last shot at EVER starting a professional football game. That extra incentive to go balls out has me intrigued!

Brock Osweiler DEN @ PHI (FD-$6,000)(DK-$4,500)
Oh my gosh! Did this guy scam HOU or was he sent by DEN to pull the old okie doke? Regardless, he’s the starting QB for DEN this week. Denver has lost three games straight. They will be forced to throw and be playing from behind in PHI this week.

*UPDATE* With Zeke being able to play AGAIN this week I had to scrap two guys! No worries, there is always more to mention! RB is an odd mixture of combo plays and opportunity. Quite frankly, I’m excited!

Jonathan Stewart CAR vs. ATL (FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,500)
After shipping Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo their should be more touches to go around now right? His health is good, hes aging but I like his match-up here in week 9. A steady flow with 15+ touches!

Eddie Lacy SEA vs. WAS (FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,200)
Pete Caroll said Lacy will play a prominent role Sunday at home vs. the Redskins. Any news of this nature and I’m all over it! Defense’s have to keep it honest against Russell Wilson, allowing other offensive talents to sneak free. Let’s bank on 15-18 touch day from Lacy at home in Seattle. If that happens I expect good things for only $5,300 on FD and 3,200 on Dk respectively.

Kenyan Drake/Damien Williams MIA vs. OAK (FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,000/$3,700)
So the Dolphins sent Jay Ajayi to PHI out of nowhere. Not our issue, but with a trade comes opportunity. These two guys are also in line for an increased role rest of season. Williams is the pass catching back while Drake well, he catches passes too. If I was a betting man, which I am, I’d bet Williams.

Marshawn Lynch OAK @ MIA (FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,000)
This guy! Gets suspended for bumping an official, then spends his suspension practicing with his old high school. He marches to the beat of his own drum. MIA has fallen off recently defensively. Allowing opposing backs 4.8 yards per carry. Beast mode returns this week!

<a rel=

Derrick Henry TEN vs. BAL (FD-$5,200)(DK-$5,000)
DeMarco Murray is getting older and each week he carries a different injury assignment. Henry is a stud. 6’3 247lb stud, and its only a matter of time before he’s the guy in TEN.

WR is an interesting mix. One guy who may go nuts while the rest are literally bottom of the barrel. Lets dig in!

Ted Ginn Jr. NO vs. TB (FD-$5,700)(DK-$5,000)
He’s had a 40+yd reception in 3 of his last 5. TB is ranked 23rd vs. the pass. Drew Brees at home versus TB, yes please!

Terrance Williams DAL vs. KC ($4,600)(DK-$3,300)
This one is simple. No Zeke, DAL will settle for the slow burn of Alf/McFadden. That and covering Dez Bryant. I like the chances Terrance has a gets free, maybe more then once!

Bruce Ellington HOU vs. TEN (FD-$4,600)(DK-$3,000)
Here’s my logic, hope it makes sense. The entire DFS community is going to be on the HOU stack right? Watson/Miller/Hopkins/Fuller right? Who the heck is going to roster Bruce? Uh, hopefully you after reading this! He was on the field last week for 80% of HOU snaps! Seemingly lost in the shuffle. Nope, not with me and my roster!

Bennie Fowler DEN @ PHI (FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,000)
Here me out once more. PHI is ranked 27th against the pass. In a game I assume that will be dominated by PHI, the Broncos will be forced to throw. He will get some play Sunday in PHI and if Sanders can’t suit up again? Oh man do I love Bennie then!

TE this week isn’t as exciting as weeks past. It’s a few guys who play for teams with decent match ups. It doesn’t hurt the fact they are all at rock bottom prices.

Benjamin Watson BAL @ TEN (FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,700)
He’s averaging around 6 fantasy points a week. He’s heavily targeted as is in BAL. If Mike Wallace sits again then hey Watson is all gravy!

Josh Hill NO vs. TB (FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,500)
Fleener has completely freaked out and done nothing. This week NO may put on a show. An air show. Hill still hasn’t had his 2 TD game yet this season. Could it be week 9?

Tyler Higbee LAR @ NYG (FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,800)
He’s out snapping the other Ram TE’s, which isn’t saying much. His increased snaps mixed with the Giants lowly ranked defense make him an option this week. Well that and the fact he’s $4,500 helps.

A.J. Derby DEN @ PHI (FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,900)
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, DEN will be playing behind this week in PHI.

Well friends, it’s that time again. The part of the article where I discuss some kickers. Let’s take it back, waaaaaay back. For those of you who careless and just want to dance through this portion are allowed. How about Billy Ray Cyrus – Achy Breaky Heart? For the younger folk, that’s Miley Cyrus dad. Google it. I’ll see you at DST.

Robbie Gould SF vs. ARZ (FD-$4,500)

Randy Bullock CIN @ JAC (FD-$4,500)

Adam Vinatieri IND @ HOU (FD-$4,500)

Josh Lambo JAC vs. CIN (FD-$4,700)

So? How’d it go? Hopefully you’ve two-stepped or shuffled on over after that break. You all know the importance I place on a DST. You all should know it by now too. CHI and BAL have gone wild the past two weeks. Lets try to capture that magic this week!

Baltimore Ravens BAL @ TEN (FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,900)
I swear I’m not chasing points! They have another decent match-up and a ton of confidence! Nothing more dangerous then a defensive unit fully believing in themselves.

Kansas City Chiefs KC @ DAL (FD-$4,400)(DK-$2,500)
They haven’t been as great as some had thought in 2017. Regardless, they are catching DAL days after the Zeke suspension had been made official AGAIN.

Dallas Cowboys DAL vs. KC (FD-$4,300)(DK-$2,300)
On a whim, the Dallas DST at home playing KC doesn’t seem horrible. It could be a game management, clock management trying to find the run all game between the two. Low scoring, drawn out with a few fumbles.

New York Giants NYG vs. LAR (FD-$4,100)(DK-$3,000)
Are the Giants about to surge? Don’t they always? At least make one push a season? The defense may finally be healthy. Let’s give it a shot!

We can run from our problems or face them and deal. Much like week 9, the decisions we make have consequences. I know I’m comparing real life to our fantasy lives again BUT in an odd way in my brain the similarities are strikingly close. We can chose to run then fade into complacency, roster the same group of bums and chase points OR we can deal with it comprehend content look elsewhere, take risk and reap the benefits. The choice is yours! #teamdeal or #team run which one are you?

Here’s my starting point this week for BOTH FD & DK…
