Explosive Play – In the real-world NFL an explosive play is defined as any play over 20 yards, and those type of plays will typically win you football games. In the DFS world, an explosive play is a player that I think has the potential to put up huge fantasy production, based on his matchup, recent performance, and his history against the opposing team. Theses are the plays you need to win in the DFS world.
Deep Threat – A deep threat is a second or third tier player that I think will outperform their price on FanDuel, giving you the best Return on Investment (ROI).
Punt Play – This term is pretty universal — typically a GPP play only. It’s a player that has an outside shot to have a great game and will most likely me low-owned in large tournaments.
Missed Tackle – A missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be avoiding — be it because of match-up, weather conditions, or recent performance.
*note* I will not include kickers, because, well, they are kickers.

Quarterbacks
Explosive Play Drew Brees, Saints  (FD $8900 , DK $7800 , Yahoo! $43)
Bucs defense made Marcus Mariota look like an All-pro, imagine what Drew Brees can do.
Deep Threat Carson Palmer, Cardinals   (FD $7800 , DK $6700, Yahoo! $34 )
Wanna guess who the No. 1 overall QB in Week 1 was? Okay fine, it was Tom Brady, but No. 2 was Carson Palmer, bet you wouldn’t have guessed that one!
Punt Play Marcus Mariota, Titans  (FD $7400, DK $6000 , Yahoo! $36 )
….And the No. 3 QB overall last week goes to Marcus Mariota!! Say What? That’s right. He gets the Brown’s defense this week, which is a tougher matchup than you might think, but the Browns offense is so bad that Mariota might have some short fields again.

Missed Tackle Tom Brady, Patriots  (FD $8300, DK $7500, Yahoo! $45 )
The Bills defense is pretty good. Ask Andrew Luck. Not saying Brady can’t still be good, but I’m not risking it.
Running Backs
Explosive Play Eddie Lacy, Green Bay  (FD $8100, DK $7200, Yahoo! $33 )
You beat the Seahawks by running right at them. It negates their speed on defense and doesn’t allow their corner backs to man handle the wide receivers.
Deep Threat Carlos Hyde, 49ers  (FD $7000, DK $5100, Yahoo! $23 )
Great value because the prices were set before his huge Monday night game, and he gets the porous Steelers defense this week.
Punt Play Ameer Abdullah, Lions  (FD $6400, DK $4500, Yahoo! $22 )
Carlos Hyde exposed the Vikings defense on Monday night, expect the Lions to do the same.
Missed Tackle Matt Forte, Bears  (FD $8900, DK $7700, Yahoo! $36 )
Arizona Cardinals is one of those defenses you avoid.
Wide Receivers
Explosive Play, Odell Beckham Jr., Giants  (FD $8700, DK $8800, Yahoo! $42 )
He gets the nod over Julio Jones based on the fact I think he will be much lower owned than Jones.
Deep Threat Jordan Matthews, Eagles  (FD $7000, DK $7100, Yahoo! $ 27)
Ridiculous amount of targets last week, should see similar this week.
Punt Play Donte Moncrief, Colts  (FD $6000, DK $4600, Yahoo! $13 )
Had the second most targets last week even with T.Y. Hilton on the field. Hilton is expected to miss the game. Either way, I like Moncrief.
Missed Tackle Keenan Allen, Chargers  (FD $8200, DK $7100, Yahoo! $29 )
We just saw Keenan Allen’s best game of the year, don’t go chasing after that performance.
Tight Ends
Explosive Play Martellus Bennett, Bears  (FD $6100, DK $4500, Yahoo! $21 )
The Cardinals were 4th worst defending the tight end in 2014 and dead last in 2013. Alshon Jeffery had a set back in practice on Friday. Looks like fantasy gold for Bennett.
Deep Threat Ladarius Green, Chargers  (FD $5600, DK $3500, Yahoo! $12 )
Philip Rivers was looking his way a lot in the Red Zone. He will continue to do so in this game.
Punt Play Scott Chandler, Bills  (FD $4900, DK $2600, Yahoo! $10 )
With Rex Ryan and the Bills signing King Kong to guard Rob Gronkowski, I like Chandler in his revenge game against his former team.
Missed Tackle Rob Gronkowski, Patriots  (FD $8300, DK $7300, Yahoo! $36 )
King Kong will be guarding Gronk plus he is really expensive.
Defense
Explosive Play Miami Dolphins  (FD $5100, DK $3300, Yahoo! $13 )
One word. Jaguars.
Deep Threat Tennessee Titans  (FD $ , DK $3000 , Yahoo! $12 )
Two words. Johnny Manziel.
Punt Play Detroit Lions  (FD $4600, DK $2900, Yahoo! $11 )
Three words…. ok I’ll stop. Vikings looked awful against the 49ers. Lions defense is better than they showed in Week 1.
Missed Tackle Seattle Seahawks  (FD $4700, DK $3100 , Yahoo! $13 )
Aaron Rodgers is pretty good and the Seahawks don’t play well away from home.
Flex
Flex players are just additional players I like, but just didn’t make the cut to be featured
