NFL DFS Value Plays Week 7 – FanDuel

Welcome to the Week 7 FanDuel Value Plays article. There are a few solid value options at QB, RB and TE this week but the pickings are pretty slim at the WR position under $7,000.

The intent is not to play this exact lineup as it will come in well below the Salary Cap but to use the players as a baseline of value options which can then be upgraded to a better player with a higher salary at a few of the positions.

So onto the value plays for Week 7…

The LootCrate FanDuel Value Plays for Week 7

Quarterbacks

DeShone Kizer (CLE) vs TEN $6,400
After getting benched for a week and a half, Kizer will take over as the Browns’ starting QB this week at home against the Titans and he couldn’t ask for a better matchup. The Titans have the 25th ranked DVOA pass defense according to FootballOutsiders and have allowed 2.2 TD passes per game which ranks 28th. Kizer should also have some success on the ground to pad his fantasy production giving him a pretty high floor and potential upside if he can total at least three touchdowns.

Running Backs

Adrian Peterson (ARI) @ LAR $6,300
It sure feels like I am chasing points by recommending Peterson after his huge game last week with 134 yards and two touchdowns. However, I’m encouraged he can produce good numbers again this week given the volume of work he was given last week and his favorable matchup against the Rams’ run defense that has allowed 122 rushing yards (29th) and 1.2 rushing TDs (32nd) to opposing RBs this season. Let the AP revival continue for at least one more week.

Derrick Henry (TEN) @ CLE $5,600
I really only want to use Henry if DeMarco Murray is ruled out or is expected to be very limited this week with his hamstring injury. I don’t love the matchup for Henry against a solid Browns’ run defense but if he is going to be the workhorse back in a game that he could have a positive game script resulting in 20+ carries then sign me up at just $5,600.

Wide Receivers

Devin Funchess (CAR) @ CHI $6,700
Like I said in the intro, I’m not thrilled about the WR choices under $7,000 this week. Funchess has been targeted at least 8 times in each of the last four weeks and could get a target boost this week if Kelvin Benjamin is out or limited. He will also be one of the primary targets in the red zone increasing his touchdown potential needed to achieve a big game.

Danny Amendola (NE) vs ATL $6,200
I want to get exposure to the Patriots/Falcons game on FanDuel since it is by far the highest Vegas total this week. The only problem is a lot of the players have very high salaries making it difficult to fit a bunch of them in. Amendola is one of the only options that has some safety with at least five targets in all five games he has played this season and with Tom Brady spreading the ball around he has as good of a chance of catching a TD as any of the other Patriots’ WRs.

nfl fanduel picks week 7 2017Robert Woods (LAR) vs ARI $5,500
Woods is my favorite cheap WR option this week. He has had at least six targets in each of the last four games including three games where he had at least five receptions and at least 66 yards. He has yet to find the end zone this season but the Cardinals’ secondary has allowed 1.5 TD receptions to opposing WRs this season and Sammy Watkins will likely draw Patrick Peterson, leaving Woods in a good spot for some volume and fantasy production in a potential shootout.

Tight Ends

George Kittle (SF) vs DAL $4,800
Kittle is becoming a large piece of the 49ers passing game with at least eight targets in each of the last two games with a total of 11 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. He gets a familiar arm slinging him the ball this week with his college QB C.J. Beathard now starting. Kittle doesn’t need much to reach value at his cheap $4,800 price tag in a good matchup with the Cowboys who rank 29th DVOA against the TE position this season.

Defense

Saints (NO) @ GB $4,500
What a difference one injury makes when you’re the Green Bay Packers and the injury is to Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are a home underdog with Brett Hundley under center this week and are also dealing with more injuries on the offensive line. Meanwhile, the Saints’ defense has played well the last few weeks with 3.8 sacks and 2.3 turnovers forced over the last five weeks. Not to mention finding the end zone three times last week. Hundley will take some sacks and make some mistakes in this first NFL start.

Kicker

Robbie Gould (SF) vs DAL $4,500
Staying in San Francisco, I’ll go with Gould as my min-priced kicker with some slim pickings at the bottom of the position this week. He is at home and the Cowboys/49ers have one of the higher Vegas totals of the week. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have allowed 2.4 field goal attempts per game this season, while Gould has attempted 2.7 per game.

Brad Richter

Growing up, I was always intrigued with stats, from the back of baseball, football and basketball cards to playing dice rolling simulation games, while tracking the stats for the players on my team. My fantasy sports obsession began in college running fantasy football leagues with friends and has expanded into playing in both fantasy baseball and fantasy basketball leagues, and most recently Daily Fantasy Sports. I consider myself a “stats guy” by nature and lean on data to back up my advice and analysis of strategy techniques and player evaluations. That said, I have also always felt that sometimes you must go with a gut instinct based on things you have seen watching players play, even when the numbers don’t back it up. I feel that it is this mix of analysis that leads to the most successful formula when competing in fantasy sports.
