NFL Draftpot Lineup Advice and Analysis for 9/13/15

It has been awhile since I’ve done a real post for meaningful games, and we are going to kick off the NFL DFS season with some Draftpot.com advice. For those not familiar with Draftpot, let me give you the run down.

Draftpot.com is a DFS site similar to Fanduel or Draftkings but with no salary cap. They have two game modes; GM and Fan Mode. Fan mode allows you to pick any player at a position with no restrictions, while GM mode allows you to pick players, but are restricted based on their DPPG or Draftpot Points Per Game, which is their average fantasy points over their last 16 games. It’s an interesting spin on the “salary cap” style the other sites use. Now the fun stuff…

Go to Draftpot.com and use my Promo Code: GOING42 and Draftpot will match your deposit 100% up to $1,000! So if you put in $10 you get $20, put in $100 get $200, etc. They also have a ton of daily Freerolls so you can get used the scoring format before putting in real money on the line. Not to mention, because they are smaller than the Fanduels and Draftkings of the DFS world, your chances of winning are much greater. I turned a $4 deposit into over $125 of winnings in a few short weeks playing NBA DFS. Unfortunately, I don’t play MLB DFS, so I had to wait all summer to start playing Draftpot again.

Starting with this post I will be doing weekly lineup advice as well as posting one of my lineups, so if you haven’t already signed up what are you waiting for? So let’s get to the good stuff…

(I will concentrate on GM Mode in these posts)

Quarterback

Tyrod Taylor (2.82 DPPG) Rex Ryan announced Taylor would be the Week 1 starter, and at that “price” he can’t be passed up. He should far exceed his DPPG and will allow you to upgrade every other position.

Running Backs

Eddie Lacy (17.29 DPPG) Plays in a high-powered offense in Green Bay and with Jordy Nelson going down for the year, he will become the first or second option on nearly every play. Not to mention the Bears defense was historically bad in 2014, and I don’t expect them to be much better this year.

LeSean McCoy (12.84 DPPG) Rex Ryan loves to run the ball and the Bills just cut Fred Jackson, leaving McCoy with the backfield all to himself. There is a chance that the Colts get up big, but McCoy won’t come off the field and could get some junk time points.

Wide Receivers

Julio Jones (19.83 DPPG) This game has the highest over/under of any game in Week 1, meaning there will be a lot of scoring, and since both of these teams love to pass, I’m taking the two tops receivers from both..

Jordan Matthews (12.64 DPPG) See Julio Jones.

Demaryius Thomas (22.49 DPPG) Red Zone monster Julius Thomas is gone, look for D. Thomas to pick up the slack. He was a target monster in 2014 and that won’t change this year.

Tight End

Greg Olsen (13.80 DPPG) With Kelvin Benjamin gone for the year, Olsen is Cam Newton‘s top target. Olsen could get double digit targets in Week 1.

Flex

Andre Johnson (12.97 DPPG) Andrew Luck is the best QB Johnson has ever had and it’s not even close. T.Y. Hilton will draw the double teams and Johnson will benefit. He may also be their best Red Zone option as well.

Dez Bryant (19.75 DPPG) DeMarco Murray is gone so the Cowboys may have to pass it a little more. Dez had 16 TDs in 2014 despite having less targets than most of the top-tier receivers. What can he do with more targets??

Defense

New York Jets (4.13 DPPG) They open the season against the Cleveland Browns, that’s all you need to know.

Kicker

Matt Bryant (10.50 DPPG) As mentioned above, this game will be high scoring.

That’s it. Barring any unforeseen circumstances that will be my Week 1 lineup.
