NHL game previews/ DFS/ March 14 2018

Here is a preview of some of the better NHL games to track for Wednesday March 14 2018. In total 4 games are worth reviewing. Use this as a guideline only.

We Will use Draft Kings to fill out our lineup. Today we will try out “classic pickem”. I will go over each pick and explain a little about each one. There are players in 6 tiers. Out of each tier you are to select which player you feel will perform the best in scoring points based off the following:

Tier 1

Evgeni Malkin (Center)Pittsburgh Penguins

Connor McDavid (Center)Edmonton Oilers

Brent Burns (D)-San Jose Sharks

McDavid has 15 points in his last 10 games the Oilers are still relying on the young captain, the Sharks will be shorthanded tonight as Joe Thornton is still out with an injury. Malkin should do well tonight also, but I’m going with McDavid here.

Tier 2

Taylor Hall (w)New Jersey Devils

Phil Kessel (W)Pittsburgh Penguins

Sid Crosby (c)Pittsburgh Penguins

Ryan Getzlaf-Anaheim Ducks

Rickard Rackell-Anaheim Ducks

Kessel and Crosby are my favorite options out of this tier. Both players have been finding their stride of late and they get a favourable matchup tonight when they visit the New York Rangers.

Tier 3

Jonathan Marchessault- Vegas Golden Knights

Patrick Hornqvist-Penguins

Evander Kane-SanJose

William Karlsson-Golden Knights

Joe Pavelski-San Jose

Leon Draisaitl-Edmonton

Based on my prediction that the Edmonton/San Jose will be a high scoring game, Joe Pavelski and Leon Draisaitl are my favorites. Pavelski will be given 1st line minutes with the absence of Joe Tornton. Evander Kane is another good option as he has been a very nice boost to the sharks offense.

Tier 4

Logen Couture-SanJose

Kris Letang-Pit

Mika Zibenagad-NYR

Erick Haula-Vegas

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins-Edm.

Correy Perry-Ana

Jake Guentzel-Pit

Nugent-Hopkins will be featured on a line with Connor McDavid. I like these two to perform well tonight. Logan Couture is a nice option as well, but if McDavid performs like we predict, Nugent-Hopkins should benefit as well.

Tier 5

Kyle Palmieri-NJ

Alexander Edler -Vancouver

David Perron-LVGK

Bo Horvat-Van

Marc-Edourd Vlassic-SanJose

Ryan Spooner-NYR

Alex Tuch LVGK

Conor Sheary-Pit

David Perron is my favorite of this group, the Knights can score in bunches, his point per game average suggests this. Kyle Palmeri could be another good fit but the home matchup against the Devils is more favourable here.

Tier 6

Mats Zuccarello(NYR)

Derrick Brassard(Pit)

Darnell Nurse(Edm)

Cam Fowler (Ana)

Daniel Sedin(Van)

Timo Meir(SJ)

Sami Vatanan(Ana)

Tomas Tatar(LVGK)

Derrick Brassard is featured on a great scoring line along with sniper Phil Kessel and Riley Sheahan. The Penguins seem to be rolling right now with all hands on deck. Evan if Henrick Lundqvist gets the nod in-goal for the Rangers I still would select Brassard. As of this writing, back up goaltender, Alexander Georgiev is set to go, make sure to monitor the situation accordingly.

Here is my lineup for classic pickem/Draft Kings, March 14, 2018
