VainGlory- How to Phinn?

Hello and Welcome, to a VainGlory- How to Phinn? This is a hero guide/ spotlight. We’ll go over a hero’s abilities and which role they are best suited to play in. We will also cover the basic build for each hero we’ll be going over. Today, is Blackfeather’s loyal friend and sidekick, Phinn!image

Abilities-

Passive [Heroic Perk]- Unstoppable

Phinn cannot be stopped or stunned. All movement-impairing effects are instead reduced to moderate slows. He even shrugs off attempts on his life, passively gaining 15% additional armor, shield and max health from items and effects.

  • This Heroic Perk is why Phinn is very suited for any role. He can get past major stuns in the game as a Support/ Roam. He can get though long and devastating stuns from the enemy Laner. He can bypass Jungle invades from enemies with stuns.
  • This Heroic Perk is a Energy/ Ability burner. Any stun ability an enemy has will not have any affect on Phinn, also, the fact that Phinn will always be building Tank items means that a lot of the abilities in the game do nothing to him.

Ability 1- Quibble

Phinn slams his anchor down on a neighboring location, heavily slowing enemies for 0.9 seconds.

Overdrive: This upgrades the slow into a stun!

  • This ability is Phinn’s No. 1 source of damage. It is not very easy to hit, but has devastating effects if Phinn manages to pull it off.
  • This ability is great in a Late-Game Teamfight. Armed with his Heroic Perk he can bypass enemy stuns, get to the weakest member or the strongest and shut them down with a stun while Phinn’s team mates go ham on the hero.

Ability 2- Polite Company

Phinn stomps the earth, dealing crystal damage to all enemies in a wide area and launching them toward him. The effect reverberates around allies, granting them fortified health (increased by 6% of Phinn’s bonus health and 20% of Phinn’s bonus armor/shield) for the next 3 seconds.

Overdrive: The Overdrive on this ability pulls enemies further.

  • This ability is a good counter to a lot of channel abilities. This has a huge impact on ADAGIO in particular. When Adagio is casting his ultimate ability, Phinn can cancel it by using this ability in range.
  • This ability is a life saving ability. The shield, armour and fortified health you might think weak, but it actually has a huge impact in letting his team stay in the fight for longer.

Ultimate Ability- Forced Accord

Phinn throws his anchor in a direction. After the anchor reaches its destination he yanks it back, damaging all enemies in its path and pulling them back to him. If Phinn doesn’t pull any enemies, a percentage of the cooldown is refunded.

  • This ability affects the game incredibly. Phinn can drag a low health enemy back into the fight. He can drag an enemy to save a team mate’s live.

BUILDS-

Phinn is generally played as a Roam/ Support, but can be played in the Lane. (He suffers in the Jungle because of his slow speed).
