Value Plays for NFL Week 2 on DraftKings (#DFS)

How’s it going fellow fantasy football enthusiasts, Mr. Fantasy Dimes here back with another fire drop on value plays for NFL week 2 on DraftKings. The goal is to provide you with a few plays that you can use to finish off your rosters. These are guys with low pricing and high ceilings based on form and match up. Let’s see what we have for you this week.

Philip Rivers (IND) @ $5900 vs MIN

This dude put up 19.8 DKFpts last week against Duval in what I considered one of the better matchups last week. Well, this week he has an even better matchup. While judging a defense based on one week of play isn’t a good practice, the Vikings D is a bit of a different story. They are hurting all across that Defense but are especially hurting in their secondary right now. Rivers will look to exploit their weakness and throw the ball close to 50 times again. Opportunity is king in DFS.

Matt Ryan (ATL) @ $6600 vs DAL

So Matty Ice is the 6th most expensive quarterback on DraftKings this week. Even so, he is a value play since we expect this game to high scoring as the Vegas total indicates. Its actually predicted to be the highest-scoring game on Sunday. This shootout should have Matty Ice throwing over 50 passes again this week and with the weapons he has, that should translate to lots of DKFpts. Let’s use him before DraftKings decides to raise his price.

Running Backs

Johnathan Taylor (IND) @ $5700 vs MIN

As aforementioned, opportunity is king in DFS, and Taylor has a huge opportunity this week. With Marlon Mack‘s injury, Taylor is left atop of the Running Back chart in Indy. And while they have 2 other backs, neither are more than complementary pieces. Nyheim Hines may take some work from Taylor has he showed well last week, but even then, Look for Taylor to take the bulk of touches leftover from Mack’s injury. This is a game to target this week for sure.

James Robinson (JAX) @ $4400 vs Ten

Last week Robinson was the only Running Back of value in Duval, and that shouldn’t change this week. I’m expecting him to retain his top spot while being incorporated in the offense a bit more. To snag a clear cut bell-cow starting RB at $4400 salary is truly a great value. Also, grab him before his price goes up.

Wide Receivers

Parris Campbell (IND) @ $4500 vs MIN

Stack Alert!!! So this yet another time that we are talking about exploiting Mins bad secondary for value. Last week Campbell was targeted 9 times and I think that he will be targeted even more this week. Indy has been looking at ways to get the ball in this playmakers hands, that’s evident by the carries he was also given last week. One way or the other, Parris Campbell will help you save money to pay up at other spots if you so wish.

Corey Davis (TEN) @ $4000 vs JAX

Every clever Tom, Dick, and Harry will think they found the next best cheap option with Davis. Look for him in Chalk City, population, all of us. But in all seriousness, Davis is the next man up since AJ Brown is down this week with a knee issue. While Davis was already getting a good amount of targets, look for that to increase against a not very good defense in Jacksonville. At his current price, this dude may be the best value of the week.

Scotty Miller (TB) @ $4100 vs CAR

If there was a stereotype for the type of receiver that Tom Brady loves, it’s Scotty. This was made apparent last week when Scotty was the second most targeted receiver on the Bucs. As they build rapport, their connection will get better and Brady will make him his Julian Edelman 2.0. Chris Godwin is also listed as doubtful, meaning that Scotty may get extra work if his teammate can’t recover in time.

Breshad Perriman (NYJ) @ $3800 vs SF

Look this isn’t the best matchup, but it’s a case of opportunity for Perriman. Jamison Crowder caught an injury in Week 1 and isn’t going to play in this matchup against SF. But out of just volume of snaps, Perriman at his salary looks very valuable. Someone is going to have to account for Crowder’s 13 targets and I think Perriman will be the benefactor of that one.

Tight Ends

Mo Alie-Cox (IND) @ $3000 vs MIN

In keeping with the theme, Mo is looking to be the featured tight end due to injury to everyone that was in front of him on the depth chart. Rivers, in his nearly 50 pass attempts last week, targeted the tight end six times. That may increase in a better matchup this week. At 6 foot 5 inches, I can see one or two end zone targets going his way as well. Grab him at a super discount price.

Jordan Reed (SF) @ $2600 vs NYJ

George Kittle is banged up and Jordan Reed is the next man up but with all his concussion concerns, is his price worth the risk? I think so. Today’s NFL isn’t what it was when he was constantly getting banged up. Plus handsome Jimmy Garoppolo loves targeting the tight end position. High-risk, high reward possibility here. Play at your own risk!!!

Logan Thomas (WAS) @ $3600 vs ARI

I have to mention Thomas here. Arizona ranked dead last, last year on points allowed to the tight end position. While that wasn’t very apparent last week, I still think they are who we thought they were. See what I did there? That said, Thomas was targeted eight times last week and he should have similar work this week. Easy play!!!

Defense

Rams Defense @ $2800 vs PHI

Last week Aaron Donald showed just what a force he is to play against. Philly has a banged-up offensive line that should allow pressure to Carson Wentz. We have seen that when Wentz is pressured he is prone to turnovers. At this price, we are hoping for a turn over or two which could very well take place here.
