Waiver Wire Week 13 (#FantasyFootball)

Fantasy Football Top Waiver Adds Week 13

Marcell Ateman WR (Raiders)

(ESPN ownership 0.3%)

The numbers weren’t there against a stingy Baltimore defense last week but the opportunity was. Rookie wide receiver Marcell Ateman was targeted 10 times but only converted it to 3 catches for 16 yards. This week he’ll go in facing a Chiefs defense that isn’t nearly as daunting and could have a nice break out game.

Gus Edwards RB (Ravens)

(ESPN ownership 53.8%)

Back to back, 100-yard rushing games for Edwards has shown that he’s not just a flash in the pan (at least for this season) at running back for the Ravens. With the new look, Lamar Jackson offense the Ravens are extremely run heavy with 54 and 43 rushing attempts. This ranks first in the league both weeks and if this trend continues not only is Gus Edwards a must roster but he’s a must play.

Robert Foster WR (Bills)

(ESPN ownership 0.1%)

This is definitely a deeper league play but Robert Foster is turning into one of Josh Allen’s favorite targets. The rookie receiver is a big play threat who has 199 yards over the last two weeks. The Bills have an easy schedule against the pass the remainder of the season and he could put up some big games if they keep taking shots his way.

Carlos Hyde RB (Jacksonville)

(ESPN ownership 38.8%)

This is completely contingent on the Leonard Fournette appeal. If Fournette is suspended Hyde is a must add and play this week. The Jags have one of the NFL’s top running attacks and if you are in a game to get in the playoffs or in the playoffs spending up to get a starter this week could be huge.

Gerald Everett TE (Rams)

(ESPN ownership 6.0%)

With Cooper Kupp being sidelined the Rams finally decided to use their tight end position, particularly in the red zone.  Gerald Everett has 3 touchdowns over the last two games. The second-year tight end is a fantastic athlete and should continue seeing his role grow. In a tough position at tight end, I’d be willing to play a red zone threat in a capable offense like Los Angeles.

Chris Herndon TE (Jets)

(ESPN ownership 9.9%)

Chris Herndon is turning into one of the top receiving threats for the Jets’ offense. In the last 6 weeks, Herndon has either scored a touchdown or had 50 yards receiving in five of them. While its nothing extraordinary its worth playing if your hard up at the position for either streaming or looking for a guy to plug in for the playoffs.

Baker Mayfield QB (Browns)

(ESPN ownership 0.5%)

Baker Mayfield is coming off one of the best games of his career and available in more leagues than Lamar Jackson.  Mayfield now has two or more touchdowns in 5 straight games and has played consistently well. On top of that going forward, Mayfield has a fantastic schedule that should allow him to rack up points with week 16 being a rematch against the Bengals. If you have a QB who’s on a team who could sit during the fantasy championship grab Mayfield now!

Austin Ekeler RB (Chargers)

(ESPN ownership 54.7%)

Melvin Gordon has been one of the best running backs this season on a top-tier offense. Now Gordon is out 2-4 weeks making Ekeler the top pick up this week. Ekeler has produced all year and should be owned but he’s somehow available in 46% of leagues. If you are one of those lucky people spend all of your Faab budgets because you have a minimum of an RB2 the rest of the season.
