Waiver Wire Week 15 (#FantasyFootball)

Fantasy Football Top Waiver Adds Week 15

Justin Jackson RB (Chargers)

(ESPN ownership 43.1%)

Melvin Gordon is still questionable and Austin Ekeler is now in the concussion protocol so its next man up. Last week was a little rough for Jackson coming off of a huge performance the week before. This week Jackson will be seeing the majority of the carries with no other backs on the roster which could lead to a big game.

Kenneth Dixon RB (Ravens)

(ESPN ownership 2.7%)

The Ravens offense is all run all the time and while Gus Edwards filled in fantastically he wasn’t an explosive runner. This is where Ken Dixon came into play, coming off of injuries and suspension with his career in flux he flashed the talent that had everyone so intrigued. In week 14 he had 7 fewer touches than Edwards but 13 more yards (59 rushing and 21 receiving). His performance was enough to have John Harbaugh state that he was going to see a bigger role in the offense.

Dante Pettis WR (49ers)

(ESPN ownership 19.5%)

In a fairly bad performance overall by the offense Dante Pettis still added value with 3 catches for 49 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. The 49ers are seemingly getting more and more beat up every week which just opens up more opportunities for Pettis to produce.

Ian Thomas TE (Panthers)

(ESPN ownership 25.5%)

The tight end position stays an important part of the Panthers offense. In his first start after the Greg Olsen injury, Ian Thomas was targeted 11 times (leading all NFL tight ends) for 77 yards.  The Panthers last three games of the year will be against the Saints twice and Falcons once forcing them to throw the ball a ton which will be great for Ian Thomas.

Tim Patrick WR (Broncos)

(ESPN ownership 0.6%)

The Broncos offense is a completely new looking thing with the departure of Demaryius Thomas and Manny Sanders. Everyone thought that Cortland Sutton would be the main beneficiary of targets Tim Patrick led the team with 10. If you’re asking who that is Tim Patrick is a second-year UDFA on his third team. Finally getting the opportunity to start the big-bodied (6’4”) receiver produced well for 85 yards and while he failed to get into the end zone his size should give him that opportunity.

Elijah McGuire RB (Jets)

(ESPN ownership 11.3%)

The Jets are starting to infuse youth into their lineup seeing what they have for the future. Week 14 they decided to feed Elijah McGuire giving him 20 touches which he converted into 83 yards and a touchdown against a solid Bills defense. McGuire’s ability as a receiver out of the backfield makes him an interesting play going forward and is a nice pick up in deeper leagues.

Josh Allen QB (Bills)

(ESPN ownership 16.9%)

Josh Allen has now broken Mike Vicks record for rushing yards in a three-game span by a quarterback. Allen’s ability to run has set a fantastic floor for fantasy with the ability to do more. Week 14 against the Jets was his worst fantasy performance since coming back and still managed 18.6 points. With back to back 100 yards performances and 99 yards on the game before Allen is sitting in a nice spot to become a consistent fantasy starter.

DaeSean Hamilton WR (Broncos)

(ESPN ownership 5.6%)

The other wide receiver for the Broncos that had more targets than Cortland Sutton was DaeSean Hamilton.  Hamilton caught 7 of 9 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown. Filling in for the Sanders role in the slot Hamilton should continue to see volume the rest of the season. The rookie was drafted for this role and seems to be able to fill in incredibly well.
