New Grandmasters

Masters has changed to be Grandmasters, and will now consist of only the top 100 active players in Smite League play. Players will move in and out of Grandmasters as they compete for the top positions in SMITE.

New Joust League

With a new Joust Map comes a new League! You may now join the Joust League with up to Two friends, and compete in ranked 3v3 matches!

Relics

Free Actives

Active Items have always been an important part in SMITE play, and this season we wanted to address issues we've had with balancing them in Season 2, and also issues with low purchase rates among most SMITE players.

In Season 3, Active Items have been renamed to Relics, and are now FREE. Players have access to their first Relic slot when they start a match, and the second Relic slot upon their god reaching level 12 in a match.

More Strategies

Relics no longer have Tiers like Active Items did. The Active Items that converted to Relics are roughly equivalent to their Tier 3 counter parts. As such these items are powerful and game changing.

Want to start the game with a free Tier 3 Weakening Curse? You can, but be aware that you give up the ability to have a different Relic, such as Blink or Purification Beads, for the rest of the Early Game.

Our goal with this system is to both improve the experience for Casual Players, while also providing dynamic choices and strategies at the competitive level.

Conquest Map Update

The Conquest map has had new layout changes for season 3:

  • Layout has been adjusted for improved navigation and to better balance the risk of aggressive invades.
  • Speed Buff is now available on several Fire Elemental creatures that roam the Fire Giant lair.
  • There are fewer buff camps, but they are now more centered, with Mana buff moving between Mid and Solo lane.
