Yahoo DFS MLB Lineup 7/12

Thanks to Gonzalez and Freese contributing nothing to the cause last night, my team finished at a pedestrian 81.4 points.  Weaver getting kicked around early against the Mariners was also painful to watch.  It’s a learning process and my scores should get higher as time goes on.  To cash in 50/50s you should shoot for a score around 105 points.  Today is the last day of baseball before the All-Star Break, so beware of players getting the day off to get their break started a little early.  Today more than most days please make sure you check your roster before 1pm and around the time of first pitch for all of your players to make sure they officially in.  Here is my lineup for Yahoo DFS today:

Picking Pitchers:

Am I missing something here? Max Scherzer is only $30?  That’s very low for one of the top three pitchers in MLB over the course of this season.  He is coming off of a rough start against the Reds and faces an Orioles offense that’s no pushover, but getting a pitcher of his quality at that price is a steal.  My other pitcher is Yovani Gallardo.  His last start marked only the second time since May 19 that he gave up more than two runs.  Even if Gallardo gets a no-decision, he shouldn’t hurt your lineup if you start him.

Picking Hitters:

I like the Giants against Phillies starter Chad Billingsley, which is why I have Belt and Crawford as two of my hitters.  I don’t stack a lot personally because I don’t like putting all of eggs in one basket in DFS unless it’s a real sure thing but I’m not against using two or three from the same team.  Cespedes and Blackmon have been swinging hot bats recently.  Cano has been hot to a certain extent as well, although his normally come in two to three game bunches.  Suzuki at catcher is my value play in order to afford Todd Frazier at third base.  Frazier has just missed some huge hits over his series against the Marlins and I think he will find the open spots in the field today.  Maybin hasn’t been particularly well against the Rockies, but this is Coors Field and I believe he will end the series on a good note.
