2017 Fantasy Football: Week 13 Sit/Start

Week 12 Sit/Start

This is typically the last week of the regular season for most leagues. If it is for you, and you are in a must win situation be sure to check out my favorites for starting and sitting this week. If you have questions about players not found here be sure to hit me up and get some feedback before you lock in your line ups. You can hit me up in my Facebook group Dynasty League Problems or on twitter @MikeKelleyDLP Good luck this week!

Start and Sit of the week

The LootCrate START of the Week:

QB Jared Goff (LA)

The last time the Rams faced Arizona the Rams completed destroyed the Cardinals. It was also Goff’s second worst game as far as QB rating goes. I suspect this time around though Goff does better. Goff’s numbers in their first match up was 22/235/1 with an interception as well. He was only bailed out that week because he also added a rushing touchdown. This time I believe he can push for 275 plus yards with at least two touchdowns. He still might throw a pick, but I can live with that if he achieves the other numbers. In case you have not been paying attention, Goff is for real. I don’t see him ever being elite, but I could easily see him producing at the same level as quarterbacks like Philip Rivers or Eli Manning

The LootCrate SIT of the Week:

RB Mark Ingram (NO)

<a rel=

Mark Ingram is have a terrific season no doubt. The Panthers however have always seem to be able slow him down. Also factor in his running mate Alvin Kamara being red hot, and you have the making of a down game for Ingram. In his last three meetings with the Panthers he has carried the ball 37 times for 135 yards for an average of 3.6, which is not completely terrible. It it the failing to reach the end zone in any of those that hurts the most. Even in the passing game he is been limited to seven receptions for 86 yards. Bottom line is in his last three games against the Panthers in PPR formats he is averaging less than 10 points a game. Look else where if you can this week.

Quarterbacks

START Derek Carr (OAK)

<a rel=I know what you are thinking here. No Michael Crabtree and likely no Amari Cooper. Well last week those two combined for one catch for nine yards and a touchdown. So the reason why I am okay with this is because the Raiders are facing the Giants, who just made it clear they want to lose by benching Eli, and because Carr still went 17/23 for 244 yards and a touchdown without his top two guys. Plus the Raiders still have Seth Roberts who is a vet in that system, Cordarrelle Patterson who has shown plenty of ability in the past. He also still has Jared Cook who is on pace for a career year, and let’s not forget the Raiders have options in the run game. So despite likely being down both their top wide receivers the Raiders still have great chances this week with plenty of weapons against a team playing for a top three pick and playing at home. Look for Carr to eclipse 250 yards with a couple of touchdowns this week.

Other STARTS:

SIT Andy Dalton (CIN)

Dalton is having a good year despite the horrendous play of his offensive line. His worst games this year have come against teams with better than average passing rushing, and Steelers are just that. As a team they are second in the NFL with 38 sacks and with a poor offensive line that spells danger for Dalton. Plus it’s a prime time game and historically Dalton has struggled in prime time. If the Bengals can sustain some sort of a running game, it could help out Dalton, but even if they do I am not expecting much more the 220 yards and one touchdown for Dalton.

Other SITS:

Running Backs

START Samaje Perine (WAS)

<a rel=When Perine was drafted there was a lot of hype around him. Then early in the season he got a chance to start a couple of week when Fat Rob went down. Which resulted in a lot of disappointment. Then Fat Rob came back and Perine went back to the bench. Fat Rob goes down again giving Perine another shot and this time he has been coming through. With back to back 100 yards games Perine is starting to live up to those expectations many people had early on. I see no reason why to think another 100 yard game is in the cards for him against the struggling Cowboys on Thursday night. I think Perine is here to stay this time and I would be starting him with full confidence this week.

Other STARTS:

SIT DeMarco Murray (TEN)

How angry were Derrick Henry owners last week? Murray was sucking it pretty back last week and Henry comes in and start running all over the Colts and gets his team down the one yard line and here comes Murray to vulture his touchdown away. At some point the Titans have see that Henry is the better back and they need to get him the ball more. Until than both Henry and Murray will be too risky to start. With a tough divisional game this week I would be avoiding Murray this week for sure. If he manages to go over 50 yards I would be surprised.

Other SITS:

Wide Receivers

START Robby Anderson (NYJ)

Fantasy Football, <a rel=In his last five games Anderson has 23 receptions for 418 yards and six touchdowns. Short of guys like Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins, he might be one of the hottest receivers in the NFL right now. Look for him to continue his hot play against a downward trending Chiefs team, who have struggled against the pass all year, even when they were playing well. Overall Anderson has not been benefiting from a high volume of work. He is averaging less than seven targets a game and catching around four per game. Where he makes up for things is his yardage and touchdowns. He is on place to break 1,000 yards and hit pay dirt 10 times this year. When ever I see low volume but high output I am typically skeptical of the players value, but as long as the Jets continue to struggle to win games I am willing to risk it here. I am expecting Anderson to continue his touchdown streak as well as haul in six passes for 90 plus yards.

Other STARTS:

SIT A.J. Green (CIN)

The last two time Green has faced the Steelers he has managed 14 targets and turned that into five receptions for 79 yards and zero trips to the end zone. I am usually anti sit your studs, but in this case I would strongly consider it. To be clear I am not suggesting an automatic benching here. If you have a guy with a good match up like a Cooper Kupp I would consider using him over Green. But if you best option is like a Mohammed Sanu or Marquise Goodwin I think I would still roll with Green. The important thing to understand here is you need to limit your expectations for Green this week. If you are okay with a 10 point game out of him then use him, but if you need a 15 point game you might want to look else where. Now if you need a go big or go home game I would use Green then too. I think a safe bet for Green is the four receptions for 50 yards rage. If he can land a deep one he can bust through those numbers, but I think it is a risky play to rely on that. Again strongly consider Green before playing him, but if your options are lacking you have to roll with him.

Other SITS:

Tight Ends

START Jared Cook (OAK)

Jared Cook Raiders Tight EndCook has his worst game of the year last week. I am not expecting the same thing to happen again this week. We have already talked about how the Giants appear to be giving up on the season and we also covered the possibility that the Raiders will be without Crabtree and Cooper leaving Cook as the likely number one target this week. If not the most targets, I imagine the most important one for sure. The Giants are also last in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to tight ends as well. All of this adds up to a big day for Cook. Look for him to see close to double digit targets and bring in six or seven of them for close to 100 yards and a touchdown.

Other STARTS:

SIT Evan Engram (NYG)

No matter how good the match up is I am not sure and Giants player can be trusted at this point. The team clearly has no interest in winning the rest of the way and if your still playing fantasy football you team is playoff bound or in the playoffs. Which means I would have no desire to risk winning in the playoffs by playing a guy from a team that is clearly tanking it from here on out. Not saying the Giants won’t produce points from here on out, but rather that it is too risky at this stage to gambles on boom or bust players. Which is exactly how I view any player on the Giants right now.
