2017 NFL DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 4

Last Thursday, I was feeling really good about my picks for the week when Todd Gurley erupted for three touchdowns. It was all downhill from there, however, once the weekend hit. Week 4 looks more promising so hopefully we can bounce back. Here’s a look at some of my top suggestions for GPP tournaments on DraftKings.

The Gamefly DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 4

Quarterbacks

Drew Brees (NO) @ MIA $7,200

Brees may not be playing at home this week where he is most efficient, but a matchup against the Dolphins secondary is just as good. The Dolphins had no answers for Josh McCown last week in a blowout loss to the Jets. It could get down right ugly for them against a real offense, who just so happen to get back one of their best receivers this week.

Alex Smith (KC) vs. WAS $6,300

Not that surprising, Alex Smith has cooled off since his monster performance against New England in Week 1. Smith has never been an elite fantasy option, and shouldn’t be expected to become one. The Chiefs remain undefeated, and will now host the Redskins on Monday night. There is something about primetime games that brings out the best in some players, and I’d bet that Smith delivers another top performance in this favorable matchup.

Other Notables: Russell Wilson (SEA) vs. IND $7,300, Carson Palmer (ARI) vs. SF $6,100

Running Backs

Jay Ajayi (MIA) vs. NO $7,400

I know that I suggested Ajayi last week, and he stunk it up, but I’m confident that it won’t happen two weeks in a row. Ajayi has been battling some knee soreness, but that’s nothing new for him, and he should be fine for Sunday. Thankfully, this game starts in the morning so we can prepare ourselves in case things change. I know that the Saints blew out the Panthers last week, but that doesn’t make their defense suddenly good. This defense is still very exploitable, and Ajayi should find no trouble for running room with a high level of volume.

Joe Mixon (CIN) @ CLE $5,700

Slowly, but surely, Joe Mixon is starting to receive the majority of touches in Cincinnati’s backfield. The rookie is still without a touchdown, but that could all change in a very favorable matchup with the Browns. Jeremy Hill continues to start for the Bengals, but Mixon is the only one at this point with any fantasy relevance. He’s been trending up every week since the start, and is in a great spot to finally boom.

Other Notables: Dalvin Cook (MIN) vs. DET $6,500, Chris Carson (SEA) vs. IND $5,400

Wide Receivers

DeVante Parker (MIA) vs. NO $6,700

While teammate Jarvis Landry is the target monster in Miami, Parker has the higher ceiling between the two in terms of fantasy appeal. Parker benefited in garbage time last week on the final drive of the game that ended with him scoring a meaningless touchdown. Still, Parker is coming into his own and should have no problem getting behind this Saints secondary in what has the potential for a shootout.

DeAndre Hopkins (HOU) vs. TEN $6,400

Hopkins price range is fairly reasonable considering he’s been targeted 37 times in just three weeks. He has seven receptions in each of those games, and although he has yet to surpass 20 fantasy points in any of them, is ready for a monster game at any moment. Tennessee continues to struggle against the pass, giving up 275 yards passing per game and seven total receiving touchdowns through three games.

Willie Snead (NO) @ MIA $5,000

Willie Snead comes off of his three-game suspension this week, and instantly becomes another receiving threat for Drew Brees. There’s no doubt Snead will be pumped for his return, and has a great opportunity for a coming out party against the dysfunctional Miami defense. With Michael Thomas getting most of the attention, don’t be surprised if Snead has a huge game in London.

Other Notables: Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) vs. SF $6,100, Adam Thielen (MIN) vs. DET $5,800

Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham (SEA) vs. IND $4,900

Graham finally had a decent outing last week against the Titans after two horrific starts. Against the Colts in a primetime slot, he should be able to carry over that momentum for at least one more week. The Seattle offense is suspect across the board, but they draw a favorable matchup against the Colts defense under the lights. Graham could be even more intriguing if Doug Baldwin is forced to sit out.

Other Notables: Cameron Brate (TB) vs. NYG $3,800, Ryan Griffin (HOU) vs. TEN $3,500

Defense

Jacksonville @ NYJ $3,600

It’s hard to say how good this Jaguars team really is after dominating in Week 1, being dominated in Week 2, only to dominate again in Week 3. The one constant through all that, however, has been the defense. There’s no dispute that this defense is really good. The opportunities for sacks, turnovers, and possibly even defensive scores should be available against this Jets offense.

Other Notables: Cincinnati @ CLE $3,500, Arizona vs. SF $3,200
