2018 Fantasy Baseball: Waiver Wire Week 1
These are some players you can target for the first week of the season. Make sure to take note that we will use yahoo sports as a reference for ownership percentages. It is very early so keep an eye on these players first and foremost.
OF Preston Tucker ATL
The former Houston Astros outfielder is getting playing time in Atlanta right now. It helps owners that he plays home games at hitter-friendly Sun Trust park. Once rookie sensation Ronald Acuna gets the call-up Tuckers’ role might get reduced
3B Matt Chapman OAK
Chapman has and will put up good power numbers, the only concern is his fairly high strikeout percentage
1B Yonder Alonso CLE
Alonso had a great year last year and is off to a very good start if you have room on your roster grab him well you can
OF Kevin Pillar TOR
Pillar is a part of a very productive lineup, he can score runs and steal bases, and if he hits atop the batting order it will be even more worthwhile to add him
C Yasmani Grandal LAD
Grandal is expected to split time with teammate Austin Barnes, even still this is a good add, Grandal hits well against righties and will give you a good source of power. If it’s possible the addition of both Ba rnes and Grandal is not a bad way to approach the catching position
2B/3B/OF Josh Harrison PIT
Harrison is always a good add because of his versatility around the field and he is reliable in many categories.
1B Eric Thames MIL
Thames is someone we should be able to trust for at the very least good power numbers. Playing time is a bit of concern but this is still a good addition.
3B Matt Davidson CHW
Davidson had arguably the best start of anyone on Opening Day. 3 home runs is a great start to the season. To keep up this pace is obviously not possible but Davidson is at the very least a great player to stash.
1B/DH Logan Morrison MIN
It’s been a slow start for Logan Morisson, but it is very early on in the season, ownership is low right now so you can get him and perhaps stash on the notion that he can turn things around.
SP Ty Blach SFG
Blach has started off well, the versatility helps as well, if forced to bullpen duties there is a good chance that he can provide a good whip as well as other good numbers.
SP Sean Manaea OAK
Manaea has the pedigree to be a good pitcher for the Athletics. This can be a nice number three or four starters depending on what type of format you play. Also,Cardinals this can be a good play for Daily Fantasy.
SP Steven Matz NYM
Any starting pitcher on the New York Mets roster is at least worth a look. Although Matz had a rough outing in his first start, the upside is still very good.

SP Zach Davies MIL
Ownership could be very low for last years’ 17 game winner. It was a tough outing against the heavCardinalsthe first time out. The Brewers are much improved this year a turn to form should be in order in the next outings.
SP Tanner Roark WAS
Roark is a nice safe option, and his first start was solid, we can perhaps look for an ERA of under 4.00 for a full season’s worth of work.
The following are all players to consider as well:
OF Michael Taylor WAS
OF Adam Eaton WAS
OF Bradley Zimmer CLE
OF Randal Grichuk TOR
1B Victor Martinez DET
C Francisco Cervelli PIT
1B Ryon Healy SEA
OF Juan Lagares NYM
1B/OF Jose Martinez STL
