Weaknesses
- He is not Saquon Barkley
- Tends to rely on his speed to bounce runs outside, but the speed of NFL linebackers won’t allow him to get the edge as often as he did at PSU
- Receiving ability not shown at PSU, 32 total receptions in three years
NFL Player Comparision | LeSean McCoy minus the pass catching (could be a good pass catcher, just wasn’t on display at PSU)
2019 Rookie Draft Projection | Mid-to-High 2nd round pick. Will sneak into the 1st with a good landing spot.

Bottom Line
Watching his film, the biggest thing that ‘jumps’ out at me is his jump cut. It has to be one of the best in this class, and his burst after the cut is impressive as well. I almost made his player comp Saquon Barkley — without the top-end speed — but he has been living in Barkley’s shadow long enough, I didn’t want to continue to put that label on him.
His pass catching ability was rarely put on display at PSU, but the few catches that I saw, he seemed to have good enough hands. Does have some fumbling issues as he had five on 243 total touches, that’s one fumble every 48 touches.
While his 40 time was faster than most expected at 4.49, it is his 20-yard shuttle of 4.19, the third best at the Combine among RBs, and his best in class 6.89 in the 3-cone that impressed me the most. He made a huge leap in my Dynasty Rookie Rankings, and with the right landing spot, could sneak into the bottom of the first round.
All-in-all Sanders had the best combine for me for what was expected and what he actually put up. He was barely on my radar before the combine, but after his strong showing I went back and watch more film on him beyond just his highlights and I liked what I saw.
