2020 Post Free Agency NFL Mock Draft

Round 1

Pick 1.01

  • Joe Burrow, QB LSU

  • The Bengals offense is in place at the skill positions and is missing the most important part. The Heisman trophy winner fills that need. In his record-setting season, Burrow showed no stage is too big and stepping in as the face of the franchise is something he was born to do.

Pick 1.02

Young is the most dominant player in this year’s class and a game-changer for a defense. Young thrives getting after the passer and causing chaos behind the line of scrimmage. The Redskins have a ton of holes on the roster and Young answers a major one.

Pick 1.03

The Lions just lost one of the best locks down corners in the league and Jeffrey Okudah allows them to replace him at a discount. Okudah is an absolute lockdown corner who excels in man to man coverage where he can run stride for stride with anyone.

Pick 1.04

Protect your franchise quarterback it’s easy as that. Jedrick Willis is an absolute beast who has dominated against the best competition the SEC had to offer. He can step in day one and start for the Giants and be an impact player on that offensive line.

Pick 1.05

  • Tua Tagovailoa, QB Alabama

The Dolphins spent their free agency building their defense and offensive line for the future. Tua Tagovailoa is a franchise quarterback who if it wasn’t for a serious injury would be in the conversation for the top overall play. After years of missing at the position, the Dolphins finally get their guy.

Pick 1.06

  • Justin Herbert, QB Oregon

As of now the Chargers still don’t have a starting quarterback and have a great roster for a young QB to take over. Herbert has all of the tools to be a successful quarterback in the NFL and landing with the Chargers would allow for Herbert to be an instant impact player.

Pick 1.07

  • Isaiah Simmons, LB Clemson

The Panthers defense had been manned in the middle by Luke Kuechly for almost a decade and now with their all-time great retiring, it leaves a huge hole in the middle of the defense. Isaiah Simmons has everything you want in a defensive weapon, Simmons can go sideline to sideline, cover, blitz and is versatile. Simmons can be a star in the league and would be a great centerpiece to the Panthers defense.

Pick 1.08

  • Mekhi Becton, OT Louisville

The Cardinals got their receiving core locked up in free agency stealing DeAndre Hopkins from the Texans. Now its time to protect your franchise QB. Mekhi Becton is an absolute freak, he’s massive with shocking athleticism. Becton can lock down Murray’s blind side for years to come.

Pick 1.09

The Jaguars defense has been decimated over the last year, one of their biggest losses was Calais Campbell. Derek Brown not only fills that need but he is one of the best overall players in the draft. Brown is a game wrecker and is a great step in the right direction to getting the Jaguars defense back on track.

Pick 1.10

The Browns have the offensive weapons in place as well as the defense, their biggest hole was their offensive line. They already started to add to it with the addition of Jack Conklin, Tristan Wirfs is the perfect addition. He is technically sound, powerful and can start day one. The Browns get an incredibly sound player here who they can count on.

Pick 1.11

  • CeeDee Lamb, WR Oklahoma

The Jets are dying to get weapons on that offense, CeeDee Lamb has all of the traits of an Alpha receiver. Lamb dominates at the catch point and is even better running with the ball in his hands. Lamb can be Sam Darnold’s top guy and be a star in the league.

Pick 1.12

  • C.J. Henderson, CB Florida

The Raiders have been building up their defense starting with the inside and all they have at cornerback is Eli Apple. C.J. Henderson is a long athletic corner who can play physical man coverage. Henderson blew up at the draft showing his athleticism and should step right in for the Raiders.

Pick 1.13

  • Kristian Fulton, CB LSU

Fulton is a long athletic corner who has a knack at going to get the football. The 49ers pass rush allows for the DBs to make plays on the ball and Fulton’s aggressiveness will fit right in. With the depth on the team San Fran can afford to have him wait and learn behind Richard Sherman but the talent is there to contribute right away.

Pick 1.14

  • Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia

The Bucs got their new quarterback in Tom Brady, now they need to protect him. Andrew Thomas is a prototypical left tackle who can protect Brady and hopefully get that offense humming. With a lack of mobility behind the line having a sturdy one is essential.

Pick 1.15

  • Henry Ruggs III, WR Alabama

The Broncos have their top receiver in Courtland Sutton and their young QB who can throw a country mile. Henry Ruggs is the perfect complement to both, he has game-changing speed that has the threat to score whenever he touches the ball.  Ruggs opens up everything for an offense just by stepping on the field with that type of speed.

Pick 1.16

  • Javon Kinlaw, IDL South Carolina

Kinlaw is an absolute athletic freak, which is not something you hear very often about a man that’s 324 lbs. Kinlaw can anchor the defensive line for the Falcons and allow for all of the speed surrounding him to run free.

Pick 1.17

You can never have enough pass rushers and the Cowboys need somebody across from Demarcus Lawerence. Chaisson is a long explosive pass rusher who excels at getting after the QB. On a team that has a lot of talent, the addition of the pass rusher helps the team exponentially.

Pick 1.18

  • Xavier McKinney, S Alabama

Miami locked up their corners adding Byron Jones and now its time to add to that and replace Minkah Fitzpatrick. McKinney is a single-high safety who has can go get the ball and also play in the box. McKinney is a defensive weapon who should help give the Phins one of the most talented defensive backfields in the league.

Pick 1.19

  • Jerry Jeudy, WR Alabama

  • Being patient and waiting on receiver worked out for the Raiders, Jerry Jeudy is not only the best route runner in the draft he may be the best receiver overall. Jeudy can create separation and give his quarterback a huge window to throw to. Jeudy has the skillset to excel in any system and has a great floor as well as the ceiling.

Pick 1.20

Just like the rest of the defense and probably worse the cornerback position for the Jags was gutted losing Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye. Jeff Gladney plays the physical press type of defense that the Jags like. He’s athletic scrappy and can make plays. Gladney is a day one starter for the Jags and hopefully can grow into their top corner.

Pick 1.21

The Eagles pass defense was atrocious last year and they took a big step adding to their secondary. Patrick Queen gives them a field general at the linebacker position who can go sideline to sideline guarding against the run. More importantly, then that though Queen has the athleticism to hang with right ends and running backs in coverage. As a true three-down linebacker Queen can boost this defense drastically.

Pick 1.22

Jalen Reagor is a receiver who can do a lot of what Stefon Diggs can do and is the perfect receiver to replace him. Reagor has deep speed, is a magician with the ball in his hands and can make spectacular plays. Reagor has shown the ability to work all areas of the field which will compliment Thielen well and help keep the offense clicking.

Pick 1.23

  • Jacob Eason, QB Washington

The Patriots just lost the face of the franchise and the man that had their offense humming for the past two decades. Replacing him won’t be easy, especially this late in the draft. Fortunately for them, Jacob Eason is available and while he can be a bit raw, he has all of the natural arm talents a coach could ask for. Eason has the skillset where he could thrive under Belichick’s tutelage.

Pick 1.24

  • Kenneth Murray, LB Oklahoma

Every mock for the past three years have been mocking a linebacker to the Saints and who am I to bust a trend. With that being said the Saints already have their secondary and defensive lines mostly in place and a linebacker of Kenneth Murray’s ability could bring it all together. Murray plays the game fast and violent. He could bring a menace to the middle of the defense to help set the tone.

Pick 1.25

  • Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE Penn State

Another casualty of the Vikings decent into cap hell was their pass rushers. Yetur Gross-Matsos is a prototypical edge who has shown a back for playing on the opponent’s side of the line of scrimmage

Pick 1.26

With the Dolphins getting their franchise QB in place now its time to protect him. Josh Jones is a massive tackle who is slightly raw not regularly facing the top-level competition at Houston. With some time to grow and the right coaching can easily develop the skills to match his natural talent to be a force at tackle.

Pick 1.27

The Seahawks have always been a team that puts an emphasis on EDGE rushers and A.J. Epenesa fits their mold. Epenesa is a big strong rusher with who’s technically sound and has a massive bull rush. He should be able to step in as a heavy rotational player right away with Bruce Irvin getting up in age before developing into a full-time starter.

Pick 1.28

  • Justin Jefferson, WR LSU

The Ravens spending first-round picks in back to back years may seem a little strange but that’s what happens when you have a young playmaker at the QB position. With Hollywood Brown and Miles Boykin already there, Justin Jefferson gives them a technician out of the slot who catches absolutely everything. Jefferson can be an instant impact on the offense and be Jackson’s safety blanket at the receiver position.

Pick 1.29

  • Neville Gallimore, IDL Oklahoma

Neville Gallimore is a playmaker from the defensive tackle position. He has the explosive ability, speed and motor to disrupt an offense. The Titans want to dominate on the ground on offense and dictate the pace on defense and Gallimore helps them do that.

Pick 1.30

The Packers have been trying for a while now to find a running mate with Davonte Adams for a while now and keep failing. One of the stars of this year’s combine Denzel Mims could be that guy. Mims has the ideal size you want in a receiver with deep speed to go with it. Mims could be an instant impact player facing single coverage allowing for his speed to get past corners.

Pick 1.31

The 49ers offense in 2019 was built off of their run game dominating defenses. With questions at the guard spot, Ruiz is a day one starter who’s technically sound, is phenomenal at pulling and a dog between the whistles. He’s fit right in with what the 49ers are doing on offense

Pick 1.32

  • Jonathan Taylor, RB Wisconsin

The reigning Super Bowl Champs have a very solid team especially on offense and can afford to take a luxury pick here. Man on man is Jonathan Taylor a luxury, the Wisconsin runner has set the NCAA on fire for the past three years. In Andy Reid’s offense surrounded by the talent, the Chiefs have he should continue the trend of dominating running the ball. The addition of Jonathan Taylor makes the league’s best offense even better.
