Overall Outlook

Calvin Ridley took that 3rd-year leap in 2020 that I expected to see. All the signs were there for him a year ago and that won’t be changing heading into 2021. In fact, 2021 could be even brighter for the young wide receiver. Ridley is coming off a season where he had career highs in receptions, yards, and yards per reception. I’m not sure if you heard the news but, Julio Jones has taken his talents to Nashville. The Falcons did draft eventual superstar, Kyle Pitts with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

With all that being said, the Falcons still don’t have a running game that will take away from the number of times Matt Ryan has to throw the ball. This team will have to throw all day and Ridley is set up to be a target machine. He showed his ability to be the number one in the absence of Julio last season.  In those games without Julio, over a 17 game season, would translate to 122 catches and 1857 yards.  Ridley will be fun to watch as his receptions, yards, and touchdowns all reach new career highs in 2021.
