The DFS Doctor’s Daily DraftKings MLB Rx 5/4/15

Sup people! Hope you all had a cashing weekend. Another Monday is upon us and that means another profitable week of DFS. Today’s slate is full of fun match ups to exploit. So let’s jump right in and see some of the top picks for tonight. 

Starting Pitcher

Let me preface this section by saying this. I love pitchers with high K potential! I know strikeouts aren’t the most important factor to take into consideration when selecting you pitchers, but it definitely helps keep their score in the positive if they do it get hit by the other team. 

Clayton Kerahaw ($12,000)- Clayton Kershaw, an ace that better be played in your cash game lineups tonight. I know he’s expensive, I know his record is 1-2,  but look at who he’s facing tonight. The Milwaukee Brewers! The team with the worst record in the Majors at 7-18. They just fired their manager for goodness sake. Like I said on Twitter yesterday, in DFS we prey on the weak. 

Clay Buchholz ($6800)- The Rays have been swinging their bats, and as a result striking out like crazy. In the last 7 days they’ve struckout at a 25% rate. Also their team wOBA has been a measly .240. So if they can live up to that trend tonight we can expect for Buch to rack up som K’s. Oh and don’t let me forget to mention he’s only $6800!! Since Kershaw is pretty much a must play, you’ll need that extra savings because of his hefty price tag. 

Tyson Ross ($9100)- Tyson is a player I think a lot of DFS players miss out on. He’s a nice strikeout pitcher boasting an impressive 11.35 K/9 this season. He’s going up against a Giants team who’s offense hasn’t been that explosive this season. Honestly, I don’t think he’s gonna give up that many runs tonight, however Ross’ biggest struggle will be getting the win since he’s going up against #MadBum ( yeah I just hashtagged that, it’s trendy right?)


Madison Bumgarner ($10400)- Bumgarner has arguably the best matchup today on paper. Over the season the Padres have had a modest .283 wOBA and a not so impressive 21.9% K rate. The only thing that scares me about the Padres is the power in some of their bats. Guys like Matt Kemp have a chance of putting up a dong or two. It’s not a huge concern though, as we know Bumgarner will get his share of K’s.
