Top Pitching Options
Corey Kluber (DK – $11300) – We have another handful of aces to choose from today and Kluber gets the nod as the top option. While I like Harvey’s matchup too (Pirates have the 26th ranked wOBA vs. RHP at 0.294 and a strikeout rate of 19.8%), Kluber’s been on absolute fire lately and his K upside makes him extremely safe in cash games. His matchup against the Reds is also more enticing than Sale’s against the Twins (hit LHP well with a 0.335 wOBA and only 17.7% K rate) or Hamels’ against the Nationals (0.328 wOBA vs. LHP and some guy named Bryce Harper). He’s also the biggest favorite on the day at -210 and shouldn’t have trouble against a Reds team with a 0.302 wOBA vs. RHP.

Nathan Karns (DK – $7100) – If you’re looking to save on pitching today, Karns is a solid option. He’s a -145 favorite today against the A’s and Kendall Graveman who has struggles in the majors this year (5.75 SIERA and 2.02 WHIP). For his price, Karns has nice K potential with a 23.3% strikeout rate on the year and while the A’s have good numbers against RHP (0.327 wOBA and 17.4% K rate), they have struggled lately and he should have a decent outing.

Other Options – Matt Harvey (DK – $11500), AJ Burnett (DK – $8900), Rubby De La Rosa (DK – $7300)

Top Hitting Options

 

Jason Kipnis (DK – $4900) – It’s worth paying up for 2B today with Kipnis under $5k and in a great spot. The Indians face Anthony DeSclafani, who started the year well but has tailed off of late, most recently getting rocked by the Giants with 6 runs in 3 IP. DeSclafani allows a 0.405 wOBA to LHH this year and Kipnis should take advantage. Kipnis has dominated RHP this year with a 0.471 wOBA and 0.190 ISO.

Brett Gardner (DK – $4200, FD – $3300) – With Ellsbury on the DL, Gardner has taken over the leadoff spot which gives him a slight boost for DFS value. The Yankees face Nick Martinez today, who gives up a 0.326 wOBA to RHH and Gardner has fared well against RHP with a 0.355 wOBA. In a game with a total of 8, Gardner should do some damage.

David De Jesus (DK – $3400) – After getting the day off yesterday, DeJesus should be back in the lineup and gets a great matchup against Kendall Graveman, who really struggles against LHH to the tune of a 0.441 wOBA. DeJesus has solid numbers against RHP – 0.374 wOBA – and should meet value for his cheap price tag.

Top Value Play
Joc Pederson (DK – $3700) – At this price on DraftKings, Joc is a great value play and he’s heating back up. He’s riding a 4 game hit streak and hit a HR last night and should feast on Ian Kennedy today.
