Did you miss me? Okay, in all fairness I’ve written my NBA column but I just didn’t have time to do my NFL column. Well, I made time this week and man what a week it is! Just about every top-tier player has a great matchup — it’s going to be hard to pick which ones you want to roster, but there is some good value on the slate too so maybe you can fit in a few studs.

Explosive Play	My top play for the position
Deep Threat	A deep threat is a second or third tier player that will outperform their price on FanDuel/DraftKings.
Hail Mary	Also know as a punt, a Hail Mary is a cheap, low-owned player with a ton of upside. Great for GPP's.
Missed Tackle	A missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be fading in my contests.

Quarterbacks

Explosive Play | Aaron Rodgers @ WAS $9,100

This is my favorite game on the main slate with a 50.5 o/u and a 2.5 point spread this game is a great game to stack. Despite the Packers’ struggling as a team, Rodgers’ has been outstanding. The Redskins defense has improved from earlier in the season, but it won’t matter, Rodgers has too many weapons to shut them down.

Deep Threat | Kirk Cousins vs GB $7,600

On the other side of that game is Cousins. Green Bay’s defense has been atrocious lately and just gave up four TDs and nearly 300 yards to Marcus Mariota  (data from DraftSnap daily fantasy optimizer). The Redskins have has some issues in the red zone this year, but I don’t think they will have any issue in the game.

Hail Mary | Blake Bortles @ DET $7,200

If only we could get the junk time Bortles for the entire game instead of just the fourth quarter, but against the Lions soft secondary, he shouldn’t have any problem carving them up.

Missed Tackle | Tom Brady @ SF $9,300

It’s not that I don’t like Brady here, I just don’t think they need to throw it much. The 49ers can’t stop anyone on the ground so why not just hand it off all game?

Others I like: Marcus Mariota $8,000

Running Backs

Explosive Play | All Four Guys over $8,000 

Le’Veon Bell, Ezekiel Elliott, DeMarco Murray, and David Johnson are all in play. If I was forced to choose one I think I’m going with David Johnson. He is the cheapest of the group and his ownership will be lower because he is playing the Vikings defense, but their defense is not what it was earlier in the season.

Deep Threat | LeGarrette Blount @ SF $7,300

As I mentioned above, the 49ers can’t stop anyone on the ground and they give up by far the most FanDuel points to opposing running backs  (data from DraftSnap daily fantasy optimizer).

Hail Mary | Rob Kelley vs GB $5,400

Over the last four weeks, Green Bay has allowed the 7th most FanDuel points to opposing running backs  (data from DraftSnap daily fantasy optimizer), not to mention, the Redskins have started to commit to the run more than they were early in the season.

Missed Tackle | None

Others I like: Jay Ajayi $7,600, Spencer Ware $7,700

Wide Receivers

Explosive Play | Antonio Brown @ CLE $8,900

This one is easy. He is Antonio Brown, they are the Cleveland Browns. Enough said.

Deep Threat | Allen Robinson @ DET $7,300

Robinson has started to look like the player everyone thought he would be coming into the season. In all fairness, a lot of his struggles fall his quarterback’s shoulders, but against this soft Lions defense, Robinson should be able to find plenty of holes to exploit.

Hail Mary | Cameron Meredith @ NYG $5,600

With Alshon Jeffery‘s four-game suspension for PEDs, Meredith becomes the top wide receiver for the Bears, and while Jay Cutler tends to turn the ball over a lot he will take his shots.

Missed Tackle | None

Others I like: Davante Adams $7,600, Donte Moncrief

Tight Ends

Explosive Play | Jordan Reed vs WAS $6,900

I’ve already mentioned I like QB Kirk Cousins so it stands to reason I would also like his top pass catcher and No. 1 red zone option.

Deep Threat | Zach Miller @ NYG $5,500

I said Meredith would take over as the No. 1 wide receiver with the Jeffery suspension, but Miller is my favorite to lead the team in targets. He is also a good red zone threat for QB Jay Cutler.

Hail Mary | Ladarius Green @ CLE $4,500

This one is a true hail mary, but at the minimum salary, he could have a decent game against the Browns this week. He has four targets last week and that could increase this week.

Missed Tackle | Cameron Brate @ KC $5,600

Others I like: Julius Thomas $5,900

Defense

Explosive Play | Arizona Cardinals @ MIN $5,100

This Vikings offense has struggled mightily over the last four-to-five weeks. They have Stefon Diggs and nothing else. They can’t run the ball at all and they no other big time playmakers outside of Diggs.

Deep Threat | Miami Dolphins @ LA $4,800

Jared Goff will get his first start this week and it will be against a much improved Dolphins’ defense. Expect multiple sacks and a few interceptions.

Hail Mary | New York Giants vs CHI $4,700

The Giants have improved as the season has progressed and now they get a matchup with Mr. Turnover Machine himself Jay Cutler.

Missed Tackle | None
