2017 NFL DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 14

Hello again GoingFor2 members! It’s Week 14 of the NFL season, and for many of you that means playoffs in your season long formats. If you’re one of those who’ve reached this critical platform, I say congratulations, and good luck to you over the next few weeks. For those of you who fell short of your playoff dreams, I feel for you, but remember that DFS is still here for the taking!

We saw some stellar performances in Week 13, and we also saw a lot of dull ones as well. Expect much of the same this week as there are some tough matchups scheduled for a lot of top talent. Let’s take a look at which ones are not only worth starting in playoff form, but also those worth considering in GPP tournaments with boom potential.

The Gamefly DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 14

Quarterbacks

Philip Rivers (LAC) vs. WAS $6,800

Rivers has been outstanding as of late, throwing for nearly 800 yards total in just the past two games. Both he and Keenan Allen have really connected as of late, and now they play host to the Washington Redskins, whose defense continues to get torched week after week. There’s no reason to think that both Rivers and the Chargers won’t keep rolling with this juicy matchup on deck.

Derek Carr (OAK) @ KC $6,400

Carr has not had his best fantasy season in 2017, but he has the Raiders in prime position to take over the AFC West. His best game this year, by far, was against none other than this same Chiefs team that they’ll be visiting this weekend. In Week 7 against Kansas City, Carr threw for over 400 yards with three touchdown passes. That was no fluke either, as the Chiefs continue their defensive struggles. It could get worse for them too with the announcement that they have suspended Marcus Peters.

Other Notables: Tom Brady (NE) @ MIA $7,500, Jameis Winston (TB) vs. DET $5,900

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara (NO) @ ATL $8,400

There’s not much that needs to be said when it comes to Kamara. The guy is an absolute animal both rushing and receiving. Even as a rookie, he’s proven to be matchup proof so no matter what the price tag is, he’s well worth it.

Rex Burkhead (NE) @ MIA $5,900

It’s always tough trying to figure out the Patriots backfield, but Burkhead seems to have emerged as the fantasy back to own in this group. He’s finished with at least 15.3 fantasy points in four of the last five games. In the last two games, he’s scored a pair of touchdowns in each, including against this same Dolphins team the Patriots beat up on a couple of weeks ago. With Rob Gronkowski serving a one-game suspension, Burkhead could even see a few extra touches.

Other Notables: Lamar Miller (HOU) vs. SF $5,800, Mike Davis (SEA) @ JAX $3,700

Wide Receivers

Brandin Cooks (NE) @ MIA $7,800

Cooks was a bust last week against Buffalo, but he has a great shot at bouncing back against the Dolphins. Two weeks ago against Miami, Cooks finished with six receptions for 83 yards and a score. With Gronk out, and Chris Hogan possibly missing another week, extra targets have to be spread out somewhere, and Cooks is likely to get his fair share.

Marvin Jones Jr. (DET) @ TB $6,800

Jones has been the perennial deep threat for the Lions all season, and despite solid production from Golden Tate, has practically emerged as their #1 receiver. He has finished with at least 90 yards receiving in five games this year, and with the Bucs poor secondary next up on the list, could easily make it six. He should be able to add to his eight touchdown total as well.

Josh Gordon (CLE) vs. GB $5,500

Arguably, the biggest mystery heading into Week 13, Gordon’s role is no longer a mystery. It may have just been one game, but 11 targets after not playing since 2014, shows the Browns still believe Gordon to be their #1 receiver. Now, the four receptions off of those 11 targets may not be all that impressive, but Gordon made some incredible catches, and somehow looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. He gets an easier matchup this week too against a Packers defense ranked 28th against receivers in DraftKings.

Other Notables: Adam Thielen (MIN) @ CAR $7,200, Michael Crabtree (OAK) @ KC $6,700

Tight Ends

Cameron Brate (TB) vs. DET $4,100

Brate finished Sunday’s game with just two receptions, but the good news is that they were touchdowns. Brate was targeted six times in the contest, and has proven to be a favorite of Winston’s, particularly in the red zone. Expect Winston to look for his big tight end again in this area when Tampa hosts Detroit on Sunday.

Other Notables: Travis Kelce (KC) vs. OAK $7,400, Jack Doyle (IND) @ BUF $4,900

Defense

Buffalo vs. IND $3,100

The Bills defense has been up and down this year. They’ve faired well, however, in the last two weeks after giving up a total of 123 points in the three games prior. On Sunday, they play host to the Colts, whose offense has often struggled this year without Andrew Luck. Buffalo’s pass defense has been their strength so some turnovers can be expected, and possibly, a score or two.

Other Notables: Minnesota @ CAR $2,700
