Carlos Carrasco
While Carrasco is not on some of the sites DFS slates on Wednesday, if you can play Carrasco in your lineups. He’s the largest favorite of the day, has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) and will face a weak Tigers lineup. The Tigers have the 5th worst wRC+ in baseball, and while they haven’t struck out that much yet this year, Carrasco comes with plenty of strikeouts built in.
Lance McCullers
McCullers is priced up as one of the top pitchers on the early slate on Wednesday. He’ll face the Twins in Target Field and has one of the lower OTTs on the slate. He’s a moderate favorite as well. The upside is always there with McCullers’ strikeouts. He has a 38.6% strikeout rate (small sample) so far this season. The Twins have struck out 24.7% of the time this year, 9th highest rate in the league.
Pay down in cash games
For the early slate, I’m going to pay down at pitcher in cash games. None of the top pitchers project high enough for cash games (but are still in play for tournaments). Currently, I have Danny Duffy and Adam Wainwright as my two pitchers, allowing me to fit all of the bats into my lineups.

Hitters
Rockies Bats
If you’re playing the early slate, the Rockies bats are the top options. There are a couple solid pitchers, but in cash games, I’ll be looking to pay down at pitcher. Currently, I have five Rockies in my lineup against Luis Perdomo. Charlie Blackmon was scratched yesterday, but if he’s healthy, he’s the top option on the slate. Nolan Arenado is the next best option, followed by Carlos Gonzalez, Trevor Story, and Chris Iannetta.
Mike Trout/Justin Upton
On the main slate, Trout is the top projected hitter. He’s the top hitter by over 1.5 points, so he’s an absolute lock in cash games. Usually the difference between top hitters is 0.1-0.3 each day, but Trout is head and shoulders above the rest on today’s slate. Justin Upton is priced a bit higher than I’d like, but he’s in the same great spot against Matt Moore. I’m trying to fit both into my lineups tonight.
Wilmer Flores
Flores has been a salary saver the past few nights, and he is again tonight against Jarlin Garcia. Flores will have the platoon advantage and is projected to hit third. For just $3,000, he the perfect way to save salary to fit Trout into your lineup.
