Zack Greinke

Greinke will face the Marlins in Chase Field. He’s a moderate favorite and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) on the slate. It’s well-known at this point in the year that the Marlins are a bad offense. They currently rank 29th in wRC+ and have the tenth highest strikeout rate against righties. At $10,700 on DraftKings, Greinke provides some salary relief from the top aces on the slate, who are all in worse matchups. I love Greinke for cash games, and if the Marlins have a righty-heavy lineup, he may be usable in tournaments as well.

Garrett Richards

You know the drill. Richards is too cheap, again. He’s always risky due to his high walk rate (4.67 BB/9), but he’s shown upside when he can avoid walks. In games where Richards has issued fewer than two free passes, he’s averaged 23.9 DK points per game. In matchups where he’s allowed multiple walks, he averages only 11.4 DK points per game. At his price, I’m going to use him in cash games because he provides value, but if you think he’s too risky, he’s a great upside play for tournaments.

Marco Gonzales

Gonzales will face the Rays in Safeco Field. He has an OTT of 3.5, second lowest on the slate. I was surprised to see he’s the favorite in a matchup against Chris Archer. The Rays strike out 24.1% of the time against lefties, 9th highest rate in the league. With a price tag of $6,000, Gonzales has a chance to be an SP2 in my cash game lineups, and will be a staple on my tournament rosters.

Hitters

No time for a full write up, but here are my favorite hitting situations today.

All of the Dodgers

The Dodgers have the highest team run total and are very affordable considering the game is in Coors Field.

Rockies Lefties

I don’t want to pick on Walker Buehler in cash games, but it’s still Coors, so I’ll have Rockies lefties in tournaments.

Brewers Bats

The Brewers, especially Ryan Braun and Domingo Santana, are underpriced against James Shields.
