Trevor Bauer

Bauer will face the White Sox for the second time in five days. He is the biggest favorite and has the lowest OTT on the slate. The White Sox own the second highest strikeout rate in the league, and Bauer has recorded at least 11 strikeouts in each of his past four games. He’s been incredibly consistent this year, averagint 25.1 DK points per game and only recording fewer than 22 DK points once this year. In cash games, Bauer is the guy to pay for.

Miles Mikolas

Mikolas will face the Phillies in Citizens Bank Park. He’s been solid so far, averaging 18.1 DK points this year. He has an OTT of 3.5, one of the lower OTTs on the slate. Mikolas is a better real-life pitcher than fantasy pitcher as his 18.7% strikeout rate isn’t desirable in DFS. The reason I’m considering Mikolas is the Phillies have the highest strikeout rate in the league at 27.1% against righties. If Mikolas can get 6-7 punch outs, he’ll be in a great spot to reach value at $8,300 on DraftKings.

Hitters

Coors Bats

We have a game in Coors Field today, but not one I have a lot of interest in. The Mets are terrible against lefties and will face lefty Tyler Anderson. Wilmer Flores looks like the best option for the price from this game and one of the few bats I’m considering in cash games. I’ll also consider Amed Rosario if he’s leading off for $2,800. The Rockies will face Jacob deGrom, so I won’t go overboard on them in cash games either. Charlie Blackmon is the only Rockies bat I’m currently considering for cash games. All of the bats are in play for tournaments. It’s still Coors Field, and this game has the highest over/under on the slate.

Mike Moustakas

Moustakas is my favorite play at third base today. He’ll face Bartolo Colon, and the Royals have a team run total of 4.5. Colon has allowed 2.29 HR/9 this season, one of the highest marks among starting pitchers. Moustakas has the highest home run projection among third baseman and costs just $3,900. Due to his home run upside, Moustakas is one of my favorite tournament plays as well.

Rangers Lefties

In the same game, the Rangers will face Ian Kennedy. Kennedy also gives up home runs, allowing 1.47 HR/9 this year and allowing more than 1.50 HR/9 in the each of the previous three seasons. The Rangers have a team run total of five, and that may be slightly low. Shin Soo-Choo, Nomar Mazarra, Rougned Odor, and Joey Gallo are all in play for tournaments. All four are  in play for cash games as well, but Choo may not make my final lineup due to his $4,500 price tag. Among the group, Odor stands out as the best value, and Gallo has the most upside.
