Zack Greinke

If you’re playing the all-day slate or an afternoon slate, Greinke is your guy. He’ll face the Padres in Chase Field. The Padres strike out at the second highest rate in the league and have the third worst wRC+. Greinke is a big favorite with an OTT of three (see pitcher chart), lowest of the day. At $10,200 on DraftKings, I’m not sure how you avoid him in cash games on the afternoon slate.

Dallas Keuchel

Keuchel will face the White Sox in Minute Maid Park. He’s a huge favorite and is tied with Greinke for the lowest OTT of the day. The White Sox have the highest strikeout rate in the league and punch out 26.6% of the time against lefties. Keuchel has had an inconsistent season, but has recorded 20+ DK points in three of his last four starts. At $9,200, Keuchel will likely be my SP1 on the main slate on Sunday.

Sean Newcomb

In tournaments, Newcomb is a high-upside option. The Brewers are a solid offense and will see the return of Lorenzo Cain, but Newcomb will own the platoon advantage against three of the Brewers top bats (Eric Thames, Christian Yelich, Travis Shaw). Ryan Braun also may miss this game and the Brewers have brought some swing-and-miss bats into their lineup recently (Keon Broxton, Brad Miller). The Brewers also own the fourth-worst wRC+ against lefty pitchers. Milwaukee has a lot unknowns for their batting order for Sunday, but I can envision multiple scenarios where Newcomb is one of the top tournament pitchers on the slate.

Hitters

No time for a full write-up, but here are my favorite plays for today.

JD Martinez/Boston Red Sox – The Red Sox were scheduled to face Jakob Junis, but he was scratched for Heath Fillmyer. I’m assuming it will be somewhat of a bullpen game for the Royals, but I expect Boston to be one of the top offenses of the slate.

Giancarlo Stanton/Aaron Judge – Both power hitters will have the platoon advantage against Ryan Borucki and have two of the highest home run projections on the slate.

Lucas Duda/Mike Moustakas – Rick Porcello is a good pitcher, but not one to shy away from. Duda and Moustakas both have the platoon advantage and provide value in your lineups.

Twins Bats – The Twins are a frustrating offense to roster, but they are in a great spot against Alex Cobb. Cobb has a 1.55 HR/9 this year and the Twins have a team run total of five.
