Predicting The Philadelphia Eagles 2020 NFL Regular Season Record
The Philadelphia Eagles Made the playoffs for the third time in three years this past season Winning Their First Super Bowl Championship against The New England Patriots during that time and now they have given star QB Carson Wentz the most talent to work with then he has ever had before in his NFL Career through free agency, trades, and the 2020 NFL Draft. It’s a two-horse race between The Eagles and the hated Dallas Cowboys (really Arlington Cowboys) for the NFC East Crown yet again. The Eagles have been victorious in that race 2 out of the last 3 seasons, and I believe not only will they win the NFC East Crown For the third time in 4 seasons, but will be serious contenders in the NFC despite a tough schedule. I think they’ll have a deep playoff run this season. I am going to predict the outcome of every game on their schedule but leave my playoff predictions for the playoffs. Let’s get started:
Week 1, The Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins: The Eagles light up the scoreboard with a healthy Desean Jackson, a defense that has gone from very good to very close to elite, WR Marquise Goodwin who The Eagles acquired in a very smart trade with the San Fransico 49ers during the NFL Draft goes off as Carson Wentz throws for 3 Tds and runs in for another score. RBs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott also score and the team’s biggest offseason acquisition who was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Lions Darius Slay runs back a pick-six for the team’s 7th TD in a game that was respectable at halftime but turned into a rout in the second half. The Eagles Win 45 to 20 with The Redskins last score coming in garbage time, against The Eagles second and third-string defense.
Week 2, The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The L.A. Rams: After a good showing in his rookie debut where he caught a couple of deep catches and one impressive 50/50 ball WR Jalen Reagor goes off for over 100 yards and two trips to pay dirt. TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert combine for over 100 yards receiving and Miles Sanders carries the load late in the game to seal a 10 point victory for the birds as the defensive line, and DBs feast on Rams QB Goff all day long and Carson Wentz shows NFL Fans for the third time why he should have been drafted No. 1 overall over Jared Goff in the 2016 NFL draft. The fact that Goff is now missing WR Brandon Cooks and RB Todd Gurley won’t help mask his deficiencies any longer. The Eagles Win 23 to 13 in a game that is not as close as the score would suggest. (Missed Extra Point by Jake Elliot)
Week 3, The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The Cincinnati Bengals: A big win for the birds. The Eagles defense makes Joe Borrow look like a rookie version of Eli Manning in a very big win where the DL collects 9 sacks and DBs K’von Wallace and Darius Slay each notch toe-tapping interceptions. The offense has the best game of their very early season as they click on all cylinders Scoring 8 Tds as Carson Wentz throws for 5 Tds. TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert each score as does RB Boston Scott on a screen pass from Carson Wentz, and WR Desean Jackson have their best outing of the season thus far by having over 150 all-purpose yards and catching two deep bombs from QB Carson Went. One of them for 75 yards on 3rd down. The Eagles second-team offense also comes in and scores another touchdown on a pass from QB Jalen Hurts to WR Quez Watkins. Bengals rookie QB Joe Burrow is stripped sacked as time expires and DE Casey Toohill takes the fumble back for a 7th Eagles TD in a rout. K Jake Elliot also bounces back by nailing a 59-yard field goal during this ball game. The Eagles Win 52 to 10
Week 4, The Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers: These two teams are oddly similar in the sense they both had defenses that stepped big last season and they both majorly upgraded their offenses to compliment said defenses in the off-season. What would have been a defensive grudge match last season should come down to a very exciting shootout…without a victor. Yes, that is correct. I am predicting a very high scoring tie for this ball game. Eagles DC Coordinator Jim Swartz is furious with his defense after this game and he lets them know it. The Eagles Tie With The 49ers 38 to 38
Week 5, The Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburg Steelers: Big Ben is slowing down. Carson Wentz is now ascending. Many other experts will predict this to be a close game, but I have the Eagles winning by more than 10 points, and It could be far easier than that. It’s the NFL and anything can happen. That being said the Eagles are on the rise and the
Steelers are quietly on the decline. I think The Eagles dominate for a good looking win on the road across the Keystone state. The Eagles move the ball up and down the field with ease, and their trio of Pro-Bowl DTs each get a sack on Ben Roethlisberger. as do DEs Brandon Graham, Derrek Barnett, and Josh Sweat. DBs K’von Wallace and Jalen Mills also combine for a sack on Big Ben that causes a turnover that prevents the Steelers from scoring a late TD that wouldn’t have mattered anyway. On offense WR Alshon Jeffry surprises the NFL world by finally coming back healthy and being productive with a score, Jackson and Raegor combine for 139 yards receiving and TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert combine for a few nice catches, but mostly contribute with Key blocks that spring RB Miles Sanders lose for two rushing TDs. Jake Eliot nails two field goals from 45 and 50 yards. J.J. Arcega Whiteside finally shows that he belongs on the team by hauling in some important possession catches on some key third-down possessions as well. The Eagles win 27 to 10
Week 6, The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The Baltimore Ravens: The Eagles have their first defensive grudge match of the season. Both teams QBs Carson Wentz and Lamar Jackson Struggle to get a lot going through the air but Miles Sanders comes up big with two clutch TD runs. QB Carson Wentz shows he’s the better QB by delivering some clutch throws on several key third-down possessions late in this ball game. The Eagles Defense slightly outplays that of Baltimore’s. The Eagles squeak out this Win 19 to 16 and they get their revenge for last seasons close Wild Card Playoff Loss. (Safety by Cox)
Week 7, The Philadelphia Eagles at home VS The New York Giants: RB Boston Scott has been playing well in his role with the Eagles all season long but at home against the Giants of New Jersey he goes off for not one, not two, but three TDs yet again. RB Miles Sanders adds a score, and QB Carson Wentz throws for over 500 yards and two deep TDs to Wrs Desean Jackson and Marquise Goodwin. K Jake Elliot adds a field goal that bangs just inside the uprights and in from 58 yards out infuriating Giants fans everywhere. The Defense gets after QB Daniel Jones and sacks him 3 times and Intercepts him twice. If not for Daniel’s ability to scramble a little bit the defense would have had 5 sacks on the day. Daniel still scores two TDs but the Giants as per usual fail to keep up with the Eagles and the fact that QB Carson Wentz finally has the same amount of weapons on offense that Jones has does not help the Giant’s cause in this game one bit. Eagles win big over the Giants 45 to 17
Week 8, The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The Dallas Cowboys: The Eagles Defense intercepts Dak Prescott 5 times and causes two more fumbles. They also knock WR Amari Cooper out of the game and out for the season with a legal hard hit delivered by K’von Wallace. WR Jalen Reagor outplays WR Ceedee lamb who has just been so-so for the Cowboys up to this point by catching 3 Tds from QB Carson Wentz and running in for another on a jet sweep. RB Boston Scott scores a TD on a wheel route on a pass from Carson Wentz and RB Miles Sanders runs in two TDs to Ezekiel Elliots one. DB K’von Wallace returns one of those intercepts for a TD. Long before the NFL Draft, I told my editor that I think that Ceedee Lamb is going to be a bust and I’m sticking by that bold comment. Eagles Win big over the hated Arlington Cowboys 49 to 14
Week 9, The Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants: QB Daniel Jones is feeling confident about giving the Giants their first win over the Eagles in half a decade after he marches his offense down the field and puts the Giants on the board first. Sadly for Jones but not sad at all for the Eagles it is the only TD the Giants score all game long as the Eagles offense goes off for 7 Tds including 2 to J.J. Arcega Whiteside in the red zone. Nearly every player on offense contributes in a big way. QB Carson Wentz throws for 3 more Tds to a combination of Jackson, Reagor, and Boston Scott. Hurts run in for a TD in a two QB set gadget play, and Miles Sanders scores another TD on a 70-yard run to pay dirt. The Eagles Defense harrases QB Daniel Jones even more so than in the two team’s first meeting in a rout. Big Play Slay notches a very impressive interception as well. K Jake Elliot hits 2 field goals and 7 extras points as he scores 9 points…as a kicker. Eagles win big over the Giants yet again in an even bigger rout 58 to 7

Week 10, The Philadelphia Eagles at The Cleveland Browns: The Eagles surprisingly struggle on offense but their defense has come to play. The Eagles offense only manages 10 points but their secondary scores 2 defensive TDs as Bad Baker Mayfield shows up in the second half of this game. The Eagles win 23 to 9 (Missed extra point by Jake Elliot.)
Week 11, The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The Seatle Seahawks: I’m not going to predict statistics or how exactly this happens, but I am predicting a close win for the Eagles due to a big day by the defense and electric play on offense that finally yet albeit barely just overcomes Russel Wilson magic. The Eagles are simply due to finally beat the Seahawks and they now have the firepower and the secondary to do it. The Eagles Win 20 to 17 as Jake Elliot makes up for a miss last week by kicking the game-winner
Week 12, The Philadelphia Eagles at The Green Bay Packers: QB Carson Wentz gets knocked out for the entire second quarter of this game while the score is tied at 10 points each. QB Jalen Hurts fills in admirably and plays well, but he makes a rookie mistake by throwing a pick-six right after he led the team down the field for an impressive 3 point drive. Down 17 to 13 QB Carson Wentz Comes Back in and throws a pair of TD’s but its just not enough as it is too little too late. The Eagles lose their first game of the season in a very close bout. The Silver Lining: QB1 Carson Wentz will be healthy for next week’s game at home. The Eagles Lose 30 to 27
Week 13, The Philadelphia Eagles at home VS The New Orleans Saints: Last season I would have looked at this game and penciled it in as a loss for the Eagles. This season, however, the Eagles possess the same amount of firepower the Saints do on offense, and the Eagles most likely have the better defense. This will be a high scoring game. There’s another very important factor. The Eagles are at home and not traveling to the Super Dome. The Linc has been just as hard for the Saints to win as the Super Dome has been for The Eagles in the last few seasons. The Last Time The Saints traveled to Philadelphia The Eagles completely demolished them 33 to 14. This game won’t be as easy but I think the Eagles get it done at home in a very important game against two NFL contenders that will be fighting each other for home-field advantage in the playoffs. It could go either way but give me the Eagles at home by one TD. I know QB Carson Wentz wants this game badly. Wentz throws for 3 TDs. One to Jackson, one to Ertz, and one to Jalen Reagor. Possession WRs Alshon Jeffry, J.J. Arcega Whiteside, and Greg Ward Jr. also make some important plays, and RBs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott each run-in for a score. Big Play Slay Picks off QB Drew Brees as does DB Kv’on Wallace in this game. The Eagles Win a very important game 38 to 29 (Missed extra point by the bloody Saints Kicker)
Week 14, The Philadelphia Eagles at The Arizona Cardinals: This is a football game that the Eagles should win as they are the far better team. That being said I am predicting a letdown after a huge emotional win for QB Carson Wentz and the eagles after they got their revenge one week previously against The Saints after coming up just a few yards short of beating them in the Divisional Round of the playoffs during the 2018-2019 NFL Season. The Eagles Lose 23 to 21
Week 15, The Philadelphia Eagles at The Dallas Cowboys: After yet another disappointing season for Cowboys fans Dallas does their best to play spoiler against the Eagles. The problem is that QB Dak Prescott has already packed it in after choking again in big games during the regular season and failing to live up to his franchise tag expectations.
Cowboys fans around the world are finally willing to admit that Dak has been extremely overrated during his career. Without Amari Cooper, and no defense to support him not to mention an overworked and extremely exhausted Zeke likely cooked at this point in the season Dak looks like what he has always been after fumbling and throwing a pair of interceptions to Eagles DBs Avonte Maddox and Darius Slay: An average QB who was carried for years by elite WRs, an elite defense (that was dismantled in the offseason as all of their best defensive players bolted in free agency) and a once top 5 RB in Zeke. Late in the Third Quarter down by 21 points Dak is replaced by a frustrated Mike Mccarthy by former 5th round QB Mike White who only plays marginally better in this game as he’s put on his back all game long by the Eagles Dline and intercepted himself when the Eagles pull their starters and put in their second-team defense by CB Sidney Jones. On offense the Eagles fire on all cylinders all game long sending Cow fans home long before the games final quarter even begins. QB Carson Wentz has again proven that he is not only the best QB in the NFC East but a top 5 NFL QB on the rise. Eagles bounce back with a very big Win 39 to 7 making this the second time in three seasons they’ve whipped the Cowboys by that same exact score in Jerry World. You have to love it when the Eagles turn Jerry world into their own personal playground as they have a penchant for beating the Cowboys in their own house 9 times out of ten.
Week 16: The Philadelphia Eagles at home Vs The Washington Redskins: The Eagles give the Redskins a game as a late-season gift because they’re resting all their starters and valuable second-string players for the playoffs after locking up home-field advantage by beating the Cowboys. The Eagles third-string offense led by QB Nate Sudfeld still scores three TDs With Nate the Great throwing one to TE Joshua Perkins, WR John Hightower, and RB3 Corey Clement on a nice wheel route. The Eagles third-string defense led by DB Jalen Mills, (who has long been beaten out by K’von Wallace and Will Parks) DE Casey Toohill and CB Cre’von Leblanc still look respectable as they hold the Redskins first-team offense to just two TDs and three field goals. The Eagle’s third-stringers come up just short against all of Washington’s starters. The Eagles lose 23 to 21
Regular Season Record: 12-3-1 The Eagles repeat as NFC East Champions and earn a first-round bye in 2020 NFL the playoffs.
That is all I’m predicting, for now, I certainly believe that this team has the potential to reach the ultimate goal once again but I’m not going to Jynx it by predicting any further matchups and scores in the Playoffs. Lets’s Go Eagles!!
