Week 6 Gut Feeling Player: Myles Gaskin

Gaskin didn’t score a touchdown in week 6, yet he was so efficient when the ball was in his hands and finished as the weeks 7th best running back. A total of 22 touches for 126 yards and 4 receptions, led the Dolphins backfield in a dominating win against, The Jets. Gaskin was money and returned 3x value on price.

Gut Feeling Play Record: 4-1-1

QUARTERBACKS

Justin Herbert (vs JAC) – $7,500

Justin Herbert has been everything I expected him to be. Short story, back in the 2019 NFL draft I wanted Herbert to come out of Oregon and The Giants to draft him. Unfortunately, he stayed an extra year and the Giants drafted Daniel Jones. Nonetheless, Herbert has stepped in as a rookie quarterback as the LA Chargers decided to move on from Phillips and “commit” to Tyrod Taylor. Herbert, in 3 of his 4 starts, has finished (in order) as the QB 13, QB7 and QB4. He’s also finished as the QB 13 one week so to me, 4 of 5 weeks, he’s been money. Jacksonville is actually 14th against the Quarterback position and allows 20.7 points per. Last week was weird for Detroit as Stafford stunk it up; look for Jacksonville to continue the trend, as they’ve allowed the 6th most passing yards in the NFL per game this season.

RUNNING BACKS

Kareem Hunt (@ CIN) – $7,100

Hunt has been SOLID since the Chubb injury finishing as the RB 13th with a TD scored; but not promising, in week 5. I get it, Cleveland isn’t Kansas City but Hunt has plenty of talent and is actually a solid buy low candidate in leagues. The Browns and Hunt find themselves in a matchup against a team in the Bengals, that allowed 210 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns on 32 carries through the ground in week 2 against The Browns. There is no Chubb this time around and Cleveland can’t continue to pass at the rate they’ve been doing, with 66 pass attempts in the past two games. Cincinnati is allowing the 12th most points to the position on the season; and allowed a WHOPPING 48.9 points to BOTH Hunt and Chubb COMBINED back in week 2. Only this time around, there is no Chubb. Among the top expensive guys, Hunt will return the MOST VALUE!

WIDE RECEIVERS

Terry McLaurin (vs DAL) – $7,100

Coming in as the 12th most expensive wide receiver on the main slate this week, Terry McLaurin is poised for his 2020 break out game. The Dallas Cowboys have been nothing but short of a get right performance for opposing offenses. Allowing the 3rd most points to the wide receiver position, the Cowboys have also allowed 11 receiving touchdowns, tied 9th most on the season. Dallas has struggled with wide receivers this year; whether it was OBJ rushing for a touchdown back in week 4 or Christian Kirk outscoring Hopkins and receiving 2 touchdowns in week 6. Nonetheless, Dallas give its up to wide receivers and allows 28.8 points per game. McLaurin, despite the change to Allen at QB, has received a team leading 19 targets through the past 2 games. Terry is a good receiver on a bad team; but is still the WR18 on the year. Coming in at his price, Scary Terry can finish with 3x value this week and be your WR1 on the week.

Tyler Boyd (vs CLE) – $6,000

Talk about a major price reduction, Boyd is sitting at a low end WR2 cost yet should finish ahead of guys priced ahead of him like, DJ Moore, Chark and, according to my rankings, Ceedee Lamb. The emergence of Higgins hasn’t really affected Boyd’s target share as he has received 14 targets that has turned into 9 receptions for 96 yards the past 2 weeks; a little 2 week slump here for Boyd. But the good thing is, offensively, nothing’s changed. I think AJ Green having a little bit of a game in week 6 bodes well for Boyd going forward. Cleveland is very susceptible to the pass as their defense allows 272 yards per game through the air (6th most) and 13 passing touchdowns allowed. Back in week 2, Boyd finished with a 7-72-1 line. I expect nothing but a similar line for Boyd giving him the chance to return 3.5x value for the price.

TIGHT END

Hunter Henry (vs JAC) – $5,800

A little QB-TE stack for the milli maker this week as Hunter Henry seems to have put the injury bug behind him. In FULL PPR scoring, Henry has finished with 10+ points in all his matchups except for week 4 against Tampa Bay. Henry has received 7 or more targets in 4 of his 5 games. The only real downside for Henry is that he only has 1 receiving touchdown, which came in week 5, compared to the 9 total touchdowns Herbert has thrown to this point. Henry is 2nd in targets, receptions and yards for this team, but, has lost touchdown opportunities to depth chart guys like Guyton who have 2 touchdowns on the season but only 6 receptions. I think this is the week to put it all together as Jacksonville has given up 5 touchdowns to the position on the season including back to back weeks with allowing one. I expect Herbert to look for his tight end in RedZone plenty of times this upcoming Sunday.

GUT FEELING PLAYER

Deshuan Watson (vs GB) – $8,000

It is no surprise that Watson is coming off his 2 best fantasy and real life football performances this season  following the firing of former coach Bill O’Brien. With a combined 82 attempts for 53 completions, 694 passing yards and 7 touchdowns; in his last two games, Watson has been the QB2 and the 2nd best player in fantasy; only .7 points behind Ryan Tannehill who’s number one. Watson hit a bit of a rough stretch in the beginning of the season when Bill O’Brien wanted to take over play calling, but now that he’s gone, the ball has been put in the hands of Watson more. Going up against a hungry Packers team, I expect a shoot out with a 57 POINT OVER/UNDER, geez! Despite being a top third team against Quarterbacks, only allowing 18 points per game, Quarterbacks have a very solid TD:INT ratio against the Packers defense at 9 to 2. I expect a GREAT game for Watson and should finish as the QB1 for the main slate.
