Fantasy Football: Keep ‘Em or Cut ‘Em – Week Twelve
Eleven weeks down, only six more to go! And we officially enter my favorite week of the NFL regular season: Thanksgiving week. Let’s read on below to see who you should consider hanging onto for another week or just simply cut ties with this week.
Alshon Jeffery – Philadelphia Eagles WR (2 targets; 0 receptions)
After missing the first half of the season with injuries, Alshon Jeffery returned in Week 10 and found himself with only one target and zero receptions. However, Week 11 was no different. Jeffery ended the day with 2 targets but once again, zero receptions to his name. The days of Alshon being a dominant receiver are over. You can cut ties and move on. Verdict: Cut ‘Em
Giovani Bernard – Cincinnati Bengals RB (9 carries for 18 yards; 4 receptions for 37 yards)
Embed from Getty ImagesThis past Saturday, it was announced that the Bengals were placing Joe Mixon on IR, meaning he will miss the next three games. Giovani Bernard owners rejoiced as they once again have a solid RB2 to plug into lineups to assist with injuries and bye weeks. However, Bernard failed owners this week. After scoring 3 total TDs in Weeks 7 and 8, Bernard has failed to score in the past two contests. The loss of Burrow for the year is a concern but Bernard’s schedule looks favorable for the next few weeks (NYG, @Miami, Dallas). I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bernard handle more carries (20+) so don’t let him go just yet! Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins QB (11/20 for 83 yards and 1 TD)
Tua will be just fine. Say it again. Tua will be just fine. Listen, he is a rookie in a season in which NFL rookies are exploding onto the scene (i.e. Justin Herbert) and it’s making Tua look bad. Now yes, Tua Tagovailoa was benched on Sunday after an awful performance against Denver, but it has been decided that he will still get the start Week 12, and what better matchup to rebound than the lowly 0-10 New York Jets. It’s Tua Time! Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Ronald Jones II – Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB (10 carries for 24 yards)
Embed from Getty ImagesRonald Jones didn’t look good on MNF. But neither did Tom Brady! I still can’t shake the fact that the Bucs signed Leonard Fournette. But here we are, headed into Week 12 and Fournette still hasn’t taken the job from Jones. Don’t get discouraged by a down performance. The Rams defense is no joke. Remember what they did to Russell Wilson last week? Ronald Jones has 754 yards and 5 TDs on the season. He will be just fine, even if Fournette is still in the picture. Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Todd Gurley II – Atlanta Falcons RB (8 carries for 26 yards; 1 reception for 3 yards)
Negative game script really hurt Todd Gurley on Sunday. Matt Ryan and Co. couldn’t get anything going against a stingy New Orleans defensive line. The Saints had the Falcons number in this one and Gurley didn’t have a chance from the get go. But don’t forget, Todd Gurley is still ranked 13th at the RB position in PPR leagues with 139 points. That’s right ahead of James Conner and right behind Ronald Jones and Antonio Gibson. Gurley has some juicy matchups coming his way against the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers, so don’t pass on him just yet. Verdict: Keep ‘Em
Henry Ruggs III – Oakland Raiders WR (1 reception for 5 yards; 1 carry for 12 yards)

It’s a little crazy to think that Henry Ruggs III was the first rookie selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. Yes, he was selected before the likes of Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb! Ruggs has taken a backseat to Nelson Agholor this season, which as a Philadelphia Eagles fan, makes me giggle. Let’s look at the stats even further for this year:
Nelson Agholor – 38 Targets / 24 Receptions / 443 Yards / 6 TDs
Henry Ruggs – 26 Targets / 14 Receptions / 256 Yards / 1 TD
Don’t waste your time or energy. Verdict: Cut ‘Em
