Bottom Line

Kylin Hill played his entire collegiate career at Mississippi State rushing for 2,535 yards and 16 touchdowns and 631 receiving yards with six touchdowns.  Hill is an aggressive, powerful runner who pummels over backs, and his agile feet help him shake defenders and slide past them with jaunts and jives.

He is smart and determined.  Hill is a versatile player who has natural receiving capabilities and receiving running backs are becoming more and more crucial for teams to have in the NFL.  One of my biggest issues with Hill is that he is a bulldozer type of back who lacks breakaway speed, so he must go toe-to-toe with many physical defenders and that repetitive hitting will eventually take a toll on his body.  It also sets him up for potential injuries in the NFL if he doesn’t learn to become more patient with his runs.  This is a trait that can be fixed given the right coach.

Hill is just too strong and sharp of a player to be overlooked and not added to a running back committee in the league.  I think he will work best as a 3rd-down and receiving back and not the lead, but Hill could prove us all wrong given the right team, coach, and scenario.
