DFS NBA: Draftkings Advice, Best Values for 2/27
DFS NBA and basketball is back on Saturday with a quite interesting, 7-game slate in the evening. For myself, January was a fantastic month that included $5k plus in winnings. February didn’t go as well. However there are a few days left in the month to head into March on a strong note.
Below are the seven games, that tip-off starting at 7:00pm/ET.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Philadelphia 76’ers
Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards
Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks
Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder
Utah Jazz at Orlando Magic
New Orleans Pelicans at San Antonio Spurs
Dallas Mavericks at Brooklyn Nets

Top-Plays
Luka Doncic | PG | $10,800
Luka Doncic is a man amongst boys in the NBA. Thursday was the first time this season that Doncic failed to dish out at least five assists and his three rebounds were his second-lowest total this season. He still shot 6-13 from the floor and 3-6 from the arch, scoring a lower total of 19 points.
What is concerning is Thursday also marked the third time this month that Doncic had turned the ball over seven times in a game. Look for a bounce back against the Brooklyn Nets, James Harden “defense.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander | PG/SG | $9,200
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is by far the No. 1 scoring option for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Over his last three games he’s shooting .650-plus from the field. From the arch, he’s been on fire too going 3-3, 2-3 and 6-11 against San Antonio on Wednesday when he scored 42.
The thing I also like on Draftkings is he has shooting guard eligibility too. It’s a position that has been somewhat hard to fill lately. His price is way up, but so is his production!
Mid-Range DFS NBA
Dejounte Murray | PG | $7,900
There is a couple reasons to like Dejounte Murray. For starters he’s been playing really well, particularly over the past two games. In 32 minutes in both games he scored 26 and 27 points. He is shooting roughly .500 and was 9-10 from three point land over those games.
One reason for this is there has been an up-tick in usage. LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan have missed time recently, making Murray the main scoring threat. With them off of the floor, he put up 55.5 and 51.25 fantasy points and now has a matchup with New Orleans.
As of this writing, DeRozan and Aldridge are both questionable. Aldridge returned last game, but suffered a wrist injury in the process. If they don’t play, Murray makes for another strong start on Saturday.
Mike Conley | PG | $6,300
Mike Conley is an NBA veteran that has been playing basketball on par with his younger counterparts. He returned to the team on February 19 and got better over each of the three games since his return. In his last game, he scored 40.5 DFS NBA points. He went 5-10 from the field and 6-9 from the arch.
He’s not an overly-exciting play, but he’s efficient and consistent since returning.

Derrick Rose | PG | $5,300
It seems as though the return of Derrick Rose to the big apple has been successful, at least so far. In his last two games he played 27 and 28 minutes, going a combined 13-26 from the floor, 4-6 from three, and added in 14 assists.
We can also look at Immanuel Quickley here. He’s been one of the handful of impressive rookies so far in 2021, and scored 35 fantasy points in their last game. He is priced at $4,800 and played 20 minutes Thursday. Either make a good play.
Which one will it be?
NBA DFS – Forwards
Top Play
Domantas Sabonis | PF/C | $10,600
Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis has everything you love when it comes to looking for DFS NBA players to roster. He plays a lot of minutes, is his team’s No. 1 scoring option, and is really good at basketball.
In their last three games, he’s played 43, 46 and 39 minutes. He’s scored 52.5, a monster 82.5 and 52.5 again. He’s a guaranteed double-double with the possibility of a triple-double if he can dish the ball.
He has power forward and center eligibility so play him where you need to.
Values
Lonnie Walker IV | SG/SF | $4,300
I jumped over the mid-range guys at the forward position because there really is not a lot to love. There will also be a lot of value to potentially be had. Again, it’s unknown at this time if DeRozan plays on Saturday. If he sits, it’s likely that Walker starts with Keldon Johnson also already ruled out.
He played 33 minutes without the pair of them in the last game, but only scored 22 Draftkings points. There could be a lot of value on this slate, but Walker could be one of the lower owned, making him a nice contrarian pivot for value in GPPs.
Mike Scott | PF/C | $3000
Tobias Harris has already been ruled out for the 76’ers on Saturday. To be perfectly honest, I’m really not sure who will get the start in his place. There is a small possibility it could be Paul Reed, but I’m guessing it will be Mike Scott.
Scott is by no means a flashy player, but he did play 22 minutes last game in relief of Harris. In his last start for an injured Joel Embiid on January 12 he played 46 minutes and scored 23 fantasy points.
He may have opportunity, and opportunity can lead to points. At minimum price, it won’t be hard to hit value.
DFS NBA – Centers
Top Plays
Karl-Anthony Towns | C | $10,100
Karl-Anthony Towns racked up 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block across 31 minutes during Wednesday’s overtime loss against the Bulls. He usually averages just over 30 minutes and has been shooting right around .500 from the floor over his last three outings.
While his rebounding totals have been down into the single digits, he’s been contributing elsewhere on the stat sheet with assists, blocks and steals. I like this matchup for KAT vs the Wizards. The game has a projected 235 point total from Vegas and the defense of Rui Hachimura and Robin Lopez is going to struggle against Towns.
I think it’s very possible we see a 60-plus fantasy point total in this fast-paced, high scoring affair.
Mid-Range
Jarrett Allen | C | $8,400
Jarrett Allen has a tough matchup against Embiid to kick off the weekend, but if he can avoid foul trouble he is in line to play big minutes trying to defend him. With Andre Drummond out of action recently, Allen has played 34, 32, 42, and 37 minutes respectively.
He posted DFS NBA scores of 43.5, 56.25, 45.5 and 61 over the last four games. Given the likelihood that he will be on the floor a lot and the lack of depth at center for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Allen makes a great play at $8,400.
Taurean Prince is now out Saturday as well.
