Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are are still atop of the AL Central despite a two-game losing streak that brings their record to 16-11. They will give the nod to Singer (1-3) to start in game 3 of the series to avoid the sweep. Singer has played 23.1 innings allowing 19 hits, 12 runs, 2 HR, 9 BB, and 26 Ks. He has an ERA of 3.09 and a whip of 1.20. Some pretty average numbers so far.

The Cleveland Indians have started to turn things around after a slow start. They improve to 14-13 and only sit a few games back from the Royals. The Indians will send out the big guns to the mound by giving Shane Beiber (3-2) the start. The ace has played 42.1 innings this season allowing 28 hits, 13 runs, 5 HR, 14 BB, and 68 Ks. He has a 2.76 ERA, and a whip of 0.99. A high number of strikeouts and a low number of runs can be make for a deadly combo.

The Indians are the favorite to complete the sweep with a line of -160. The Royals have been winning most of their series this year but a sweep may be imminent as Beiber is a man on a mission. The Indians ML is the play.

Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres

At the time of writing the article, game 2 is still live with Pirates up late in the 8th. The Pirates are looking like they will break their 5 games losing streak tonight. The Pirates have listed Brubaker (2-2) as the starter for game 3. He has had a fairly decent start to the season playing 27.1 innings letting up 23 hits, 8 runs, 4 HR, 5 BB, and 30 Ks with an ERA and whip of 2.63 and 1.02, respectively.

The Padres are still trying to figure things out and are still playing fairly well. They are 17-13 overall and 2nd in their division. They will send out former Cubs pitcher Darvish (3-1) to the mound. The gun slinger has played 38.0 innings of play giving up 23 hits, 9 runs, 4 HR, 11 BB, and 49 Ks. He had an ERA of 2.13 and whip of 0.89. He seems to rejuvenated with a new team and playing some great baseball. He has familiarity pitching against the Pirates as well.

The Padres are the heavy favorite to win with a line of -240. Laying this line isn’t ideal but worth it, given they lost game 2 and unlikely to lose game 3 as well. The Padres RL also looks favorable as well.
