The Best DraftKings Cash Picks for Week 5 (10/10/2021)

Introduction

Welcome back to goingfor2.com! Week 5 was one for the ages for yours truly! Not only did our cash game article cash yet again but I won the Mini-Max on DraftKings for 15k.

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence ($5,800)

I love this match-up for Trevor Lawrence. The Titans are real bad defensively and they just lost to The Jets. I could see wanting to even play Trey Lance here if you need the extra $100 in savings, but I feel like Lawrence is safer even with a lower implied total. I think both are in play, but I’m on team Trevor this week.

Running Backs

Derrick Henry ($9,000)

I know I may be starting to sound like a broken record here with Henry. The usage here is insane, I mean he’s touching the ball 30+ times a game. Week after Week this guy just gets it done. I see no reason to avoid him especially in a cash game format. This week may be a little different if A.J. Brown and Julio Jones play, but that’s only in tournaments for me, in cash games he remains a must play.

Leonard Fournette ($5,200)

Leonard Fournette is another guy that I just think makes too much sense in cash game formats. Ronald Jones is in the dog house for whatever reason. The Buccaneers backfield has become less and less of a split backfield as time goes on. Fournette is clearly the guy. The Buccaneers sit as a 10 point favorite at home vs The Dolphins.

Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson ($7,700)

Justin Jefferson has caught a touchdown in 3 straight games for The Minnesota Vikings. Jefferson is getting near 10 targets a game. Dalvin Cook is pretty banged up in my opinion. The match-up vs The Lions isn’t the best on paper, but I think that has a lot to due with the game scripts more than the actual match-up.

Laviska Shenault Jr. ($4,800)

If you’re new here, first off thanks for being here, and second it is no secret that I always pair my Quarterback with one of his Wide receivers. D.J. Chark is now on IR, which should free up even more usage for Laviska. The Titans are dead last in The NFL vs Wide receivers. I’d consider playing Laviska at this price point even if you weren’t playing Trevor Lawrence.

Tight-End

Mike Gesicki ($4,200)

The Tight-End position is pretty gross this week in my opinion. Mike Gesicki gets a great match-up vs The Buccaneers (expensive corn my grandpa always says) which rank 29th vs Tight-Ends. The Dolphins should be playing from behind in this game. I love the price here as well at just $4,200.

Defense

The WFT defense heading into the season was considered a top fantasy defense. So far this season that hasn’t been the case, but if there is ever a get right spot it is here vs The Saints and Jameis Winston. I love paying down at defense in any format and WFT is cheap at just $2,300.
