The Only Fantasy Waiver Article You Will Need, Week 4

Another crazy week in the NFL, and there seems to be a bunch of players that could end up being steals off the waiver wire this week. The GoingFor2 team gives you the “Only Fantasy Waiver Article You Will Need, Week 4″…

WR Romeo Doubs (GB) 40% Rostered

Usually, rookie wide receivers for Aaron Rodgers don’t perform as well as expected, but in this case, It may be a little different. With the packers down, Sammy Watkins, and a lousy receiving core, Doubs was given an excellent opportunity to perform, and he didn’t let it go to waste. Doubs came up big for the Packers in week three with 73 yards, a Touchdown, and going 8 for eight on the day.

After a decent start to the season with catching 14 of 16 of his receptions, Doubs’ week three performance has shown Rodgers he can be relied on. We all know that once Rodgers trusts a player, it usually turns into fantasy production. Doubs is in line for much more work and is an excellent option off the waiver wire if available. Austin Fullingtin @ajohnson1033

WR Zay Jones (JAX) 14% Rostered

Zay Jones is a veteran wide receiver who has failed to put together a fantasy-relevant season in the first six years of his NFL career. Is that changing now he is on the Jacksonville Jaguars, possibly? In week three he showed signs that he can be the Jaguars’ number two wide receiver behind Christian Kirk. In week three Jones had 10 receptions, 85 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He led the team in targets and had a 29% target share.

I do not expect him to put these numbers up revert week, but that’s perfectly okay with me. If he keeps improving his report with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, he will become a viable wide receiver two on a Jaguars team that looks better than most people thought at the beginning of the season.

He might not be an every-week starter but that’s not what I would expect out of him. With injuries and upcoming bye weeks, Jones is a player I would be aiming for on waivers. Before Monday Night Football Jones is WR 24 in PPR. I could see him being a WR3/flex option in standard-sized leagues, and in deeper leagues, he could be even more valuable. RB Khalil Herbert (CHI) 47% Rostered

We might have even been touting Khalil Herbert’s praises on the waiver wire even had David Montgomery not been injured. Herbert was a more than adequate replacement for Montgomery last season when he was hurt. Currently, Herbert was over seven yards per rushing attempt and three touchdowns! Justin Fields isn’t cutting it as a passer, and Herbert will surely get plenty of usage.

Chicago is averaging 35 rushing attempts per game, second-most in the league. The Bears face the Giants and Vikings in the next two weeks. Both of those teams are giving away the farm in rushing yards. Herbert should be rostered in every league and can be paid big money as he’s sure to be involved even when Montgomery is back to full health. Cecily Riddell @MrsTeamRiddell

WR Mack Hollins (LV) 3% Rostered

Hollins had a huge game this weekend, going off for eight catches on 10 targets for 158 yards and a TD. I think Hollins will be a usable option even when Hunter Renfrow (concussion) comes back. He had eight targets last week, with all of them coming while Renfrow was playing.

TE Tyler Conklin (NYJ) 29% Rostered

Unless you draft one of the top 3 to 5 tight ends, I’ve always approached the position as being satisfied with the equivalent to a 5 catch for 50 yards day. That is exactly what Tyler Conklin has been offering these first 3 games. Conklin has been consistent with the targets in all 3 games and the touchdown was in the game where the yardage wasn’t there.

Conklin currently ranks as TE4 overall in PPR scoring. The only downside is that he may be getting a QB downgrade this week with Zach Wilson slated to come back. Regardless, Conklin seems like a very important piece to the offense and the coaching staff is smart enough to not fix what isn’t broken. You could probably get him for very little FAAB but I wouldn’t burn a waiver priority on him.

QB Trevor Lawrence (JAX) 50% Rostered

Don’t look now, but this Jags team is surprisingly looking good early in the season. Not only is their defense ranked as a top 3 fantasy defense through three weeks, but Trevor Lawrence is also the QB10 with two QB1 finishes in the first three games. We will know if he is legit over the next couple of weeks as he has some tough matchups starting with the Philadelphia Eagles this coming week. If you’re in need of a starting QB, you could do worse than Lawrence.

RB Samaje Perine (CIN) 9% Rostered

Mixon was a little shaken up this past weekend, and while I think he will find a way to play, the Bengals play Thursday night, so I doubt we know his status until right before the game. I’m going to assume that get won’t practice on the short week, so if you’re a Mixon owner or just that desperate for a running back, Perine could be an under-the-radar addition.

TE David Njoku (CLE) 37% Rostered

Let’s not forget what Njoku did all the back on Thursday when he caught nine passes for 89 yards and a TD. A different tight end will flash pretty much every week of the season, but most don’t have staying power. Njoku has the pedigree and athletic ability to become a waiver wire steal this week.

WR Josh Reynolds (DET) 3% Rostered

Reynolds scored a TD in Week 2 and led the team with 10 targets, 6 catches and 96 yards against the Vikings in Week 3. The Lions ran 11 personnel almost the entire game with Reynolds running 80% of the snaps. The Lions do have multiple receiving options so he might not be consistent on a weekly basis, but as of now, he seems to be the No. 2 receiver on the team. Reynolds also has a favorable matchup next week against Seattle which can give you a flex option in deeper leagues. Jamie Perog @JamiePerog
