The Only Fantasy Football Waiver Article You Need, Week 5
Javonte! Why? Ugh. That sucks so much for him and for us. Well, we have to move on and find a replacement for him. And there were a few other injuries and a few guys that popped, here is The Only Fantasy Football Waiver Article You Need, Week 5…
RB Tyler Allgeier (ATL) 32% Rostered
I was very high on Allgeier coming into the season, I mean, in reality, all the Falcons had was Patterson. So here we are in Week four and Patterson is banged up and Allgeier goes for 10 rushes and 84 yards with another 20 yards through the air. He averaged 8.4 yards per carry making him a very desirable plug and play especially with all the injuries that are plaguing the running backs in the league right now. If you watched his tapes from BYU, you know this kid is explosive and strong.
I know the Falcons have their issues all over the offense, and potentially might go RRBC with Huntley rotating in, but my money is on Allgeier to explode and take the reigns. The Falcons face Tampa Bay in Week five, who just let rookie Pacheco run for 63 yards against their tough run defense. So if you have room in redraft, grab him. My guess is, in dynasty, he is no longer on the wire, but it will pay off to look and see! Courtney Burrows @LuvTractor3

It’s not that Moe Alie-Cox lacks talent, but he’s an excellent run-blocker and works in a run-first offense. Still, the Colts rank in the top ten this season in pass attempts, with an average of 38.8 per game. While there’s been some buzz about Kylen Greason and Jelani Woods, they are both taking less than 50% of snaps and Cox played in 70% last week. Cox’s two touchdowns last week are promising! The Colts go up against the Broncos next week, who have surrendered 21 receptions and three scores to the tight end position this season. Cecily Riddell @MrsTeamRiddell
RB Gus Edwards (BAL) 17%
Edwards is set to come off the PUP list in the next week or so. In the last few games of the 2020 season with JK Dobbins in the lineup as well, Gus Edwards had GREAT weeks. He put up over 10 PPR in 5 of the last 8 games. Adding 5 TDs to go with that. This is a running team and are going to add to the stable. With the other RBs that have dropped in the last few weeks, it’s time to load up with one no one else is thinking of. Thank me later. Jayson Barnes @FantasyJay77
WR George Pickens (PIT) 43%
George Pickens is starting to have a coming-out party. I have stayed away from this Steelers offense this whole year. Kenny Pickett looks like he may be the starter next week, and at this point, that offense can only get better. Pickens had 8 targets last week with 6 catches and over 100 yards 👀. Pickett should make this offense better, although last week wasn’t a great debut I have faith in Pickett. Pickett to Pickens sounds like something we could be hearing for years to come and it’s got a nice ring to it. Jared Good @TheYetiExpress

Corey Davis turned out to be the leading man in Zach Wilson’s season debut. This is a game people all over the fantasy world circled to see who he would look for the most. 7 targets went his way and he snagged 5 of those in for 74 yards and a TD. Davis has now had three games of 74+ yards, two games with a touchdown, two games with at least 6 targets, and scored at least 13.7-18.4 in 3/4 games. Consider him as a secondary flex option in your leagues week to week.
The Jets do want to establish the run, but they also want their young quarterback to develop. The best way is to throw it to the veteran of the receiver group and let him handle duties until Garrett Wilson is ready. Keep an eye on Davis for the fantasy playoffs as Wilson may have taken over by then. For now, let the ride continue and let him help you get to the playoffs and possibly secure you a bye. LB Frankie Luvu (CAR)
IDP: Frankie Luvu has now had 4 straight double-digit point games.
He currently leads the team in tackles with 32 over guys like Shaq Thompson and Jeremy Chinn who were drafted(Chinn very high specifically). Luvu this past afternoon had 6 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 1 pass defended, 1 interception, and one defensive TD.
This is a guy who last week had 4 solo tackles, 5 assisted, and 1 forced fumble. Luvu was also a monster in week two with an absurd line of 10 solo tackles and 4 tackles for loss. He is a guy that should be rostered everywhere and emphatically started as your DB2. Matt Rhule has a very creative way of using him in his scheme. Rest assured, you can be 100% confident in him moving forward. Hasan Kazmi @CoverZeroGF2
WR Nico Collins (HOU) 21%
The second-year wideout is slowly becoming a favorite target for Davis Mills opposite of Brandin Cooks. With the offense being as young as it is at almost every position, Nico Collins has every opportunity to grow and establish himself as a reliable target. The first 3 weeks for the Texans weren’t really “come from behind and try to catch up” game scripts, but in week 4 they found themselves down 27-7 at halftime.
More often their games will be closer to week 4. Nico Collins only caught 3 passes but saw 79% of the snaps and 2 of his 3 catches were for 20 or more yards. He certainly isn’t an every-week play but he’s definitely worth a stash if you have the bench space. Jerry Wilke @JerryWilkeFM

LB Malcolm Rodriguez (DET)
The Hard Knocks darling continues to improve. During the first four weeks of the season, Rodriguez has seen his snap share increase, with a season-high of 79% during Week 4 to go along with 11 tackles. Expect Rodriguez to continue to improve and lead the Lions in tackles. Jordan Jicha @DrFantasySports
DL/LB Rashan Gary
If you haven’t noticed yet, this guy is the real deal. The Packers’ young EDGE rusher has recorded a sack in each game this season and capped Week 4 off with two sacks and seven tackles. Gary will be in contention to lead the league in sacks and is available in way too many IDP leagues. Jordan Jicha @DrFantasySports
QB Geno Smith (NYJ) 20%
The ninth-best (and I don’t think that even counts this week) quarterback in fantasy is Geno Smith. Nobody knows that. Now you do. He is a great replacement if you waited to draft a quarterback and got Carr or Tua or had the unfortunate belief that Russell Wilson would be good in Denver. Two stellar wide receivers and the ability to run will make anyone look good in fantasy, so pick him up while you can. Nathan Janasik @MeLlamoMoron
