The Kansas City Chiefs Aren't A True NFL Dynasty
In reality the Chiefs are not a true dynasty. They are a team that has won back-to-back Super Bowl Championships based on luck, now iconic bad calls by NFL refs, and refs ruled by fear due to how strangely famous they have become due to stars on their team with celebrity status and celebrity association with people such NFL legend Jason Kelce, the Kelce family, and perhaps even Taylor Swift.
They make The New England Patriots look more legit than perhaps they were by comparison. It simply does not feel like I’m watching Professional Football anymore when The Chiefs are playing. It seems scripted unless they are down by too much in a regular season football game for the refs to be able to help throw the game. When they reach the playoffs they don’t win via greatness.
The way I see it they have won one Super Bowl fair and square. The other two:
Embed from Getty ImagesLet’s start with Super Bowl 57: The Philadelphia Eagles were back in that game with a chance to at least tie and take the game into overtime with a chance to win before overtime, but sadly we’ll never know. All Patrick Mahomes had to do was point his finger at a ref who quite honestly looked both star-struck and scared all at once.
The latest flag for defensive holding on an uncatchable pass was thrown on Eagles CB James Bradberry who barely grazed (did not hold) former Chiefs WR JuJu Smith Shuster and the game was unfairly over by then allowing the Chiefs to run out more clock as to not give the Eagles who at that moment held the momentum the ball back and kick a field goal to unjustly win the game by three points.
It’s only two years later give or take and it is already considered one of the top ten worst calls in a Super Bowl. You know that it is very bad when the broadcasters of the game especially former NFL TE Greg Olsen are upset with the call while live on TV during the game. Lebron James is even more so a fan of Pat Mahomes than he is of any Philadelphia Eagles player, however, he wanted to watch a fair Super Bowl game and was outspoken about how bad the call was.
Embed from Getty ImagesLet’s end with Super Bowl 58: The San Francisco 49ers were handed an even more unjust loss at the hands of a terrible call by so-called professional NFL refs. Following the Chief’s so-called win over the 49ers there will likely be for the first time a legal investigation for the very first time in SB and NFL history. Think about that for a moment if you can think about the players that were not wearing all red. I am not a 9ers fan, but if I were I would indeed be outraged. The missed calls include the obvious horse collar tackle on the 49er’s less famous QB Brock Purdy. If that had Been Patrick Mahomes it would have been called. The missed call on 49ers DE Nick Bosa was as crucial as it was obvious.
The Chiefs were allowed to hold San Francisco’s defensive players all game long…The most costly noncall of course against the Chief’s opposition. San Fran had the win in the books until the worst non-call of the game came in overtime when the refs missed a clear hold on Fred Warner. He was tackled by Kansas City to prevent him from getting to Mahomes. Minutes later the Chiefs scored the game-winning touchdown.
I could certainly be wrong. At the end of the day, I am simply a journalist who has his own opinion. That being said…I don’t think I am wrong at all. Let me know in the comment section what you thought about the hame. Let me know if you think the Chiefs are a legitimate NFL Dynasty. I simply don’t. I think it is more propaganda than football with the Kansas City Chiefs.
