Last Call Week 12 Start Sit or Just Forget
Welcome to Bye-apocalypse week with six teams on a bye including Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase’s Cincinnati Bengals, and the dumpster fire that is Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. Oh yeah, also the Atlanta Falcons Jacksonville Jaguars, and (just to prevent you from chasing points) Taysom Hill and the New Orleans Saints.
And since the Bye-apocalypse coincides with the last article before Thanksgiving, the drink will have to be especially strong, and the premium play will have to be especially worthy. Let’s start with the drink and because I always assume I will not survive an apocalypse (fingers crossed on this week’s Bye-apocalypse) I am going with tradition (sort of) and making ourselves The Ultimate Apocalypse recipe thanks to Difford’s Guide.
I don’t need to remind you to drink responsibly…do I?
You Will Need
A Martini Glass chilled
1 ½ ounces of Remy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
½ ounce of Orange Curacao liqueur, you know like Triple Sec or Cointreau
(Suggested 1/3 ounce of L’Espirit De June Liqueur ~ but not mad at you if you skip this 1/3 ounce)
2 dashes of Peychaud’s or other Creole-style bitters
2 dashes of Boker’s bitters
Brut Champagne or any Sparkling Wine
What You Will Do

Combine the Remy, orange liqueur bitters, Peychaud, and Boker’s bitters into a glass with 1/3 ice. Stir
Strain into your Martini glass
Top with Brut champagne/sparkling wine
Cheers to the Bye-Apocalypse!
Now onto our Week 12 last call lineups.
Premium Play, Tight End, Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
I am becoming a Henry apologist and am not ashamed to admit it. Henry is currently TE9 in PPR leagues averaging 9.2 fantasy points per game. In the past five weeks, he averaged a 21.8% target share, which equals nine, four, and eight targets in his last three games. Last week his eight targets resulted in six receptions for 63 yards.
With quarterback Drake Maye passing for 40, 25, and 41 attempts in his last three games the opportunity is there. Henry was second in receiving yards last week and first in receiving yards in Week 9 (in Week 10 Maye only had 25 passing attempts and Henry collected only one reception and 14 yards).
This week the Patriots travel to Miami to play the Tua Tagovailoa-led Miami Dolphins, the Patriots are a 7.5-point road underdog, and the game has a 46.5 over/under, so passing attempts should be at a maximum.
The better news is that the Dolphins are giving up an average of 5.7 receptions and 51.7 yards to the tight end position. Last week Brock Bowers (who is a specimen) collected 13 receptions, 126 yards, and a touchdown against the Dolphins. But if we want to discuss more ‘traditional’ tight ends, the Buffalo Bills combo of Dalton Kincaid and Quintin Morris combined for 14.4 fantasy points against the Dolphins and in Week 10 back-up Davis Allen collected 8.4 fantasy points against the Dolphins.
Consider Henry a smooth premium play on a week you are going to be without Kyle Pitts, Kincaid, Mike Gesicki, Evan Engram, and Hill as your tight-end options.
Well Play, Quarterback, Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts
This is not about you chasing Richardson’s numbers from last week, that was against the dysfunction that goes by the name of Rodgers’ New York Jets
This is a game against Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions, not the same. The Lions are a touchdown favorite in Indianapolis after eviscerating the Mac Jones-led Jacksonville Jaguars last week. This game also has the second-highest implied total for the week at 49.5.
Here is the reason you are going to trust Richardson this week, last week the Lions lost linebacker Alex Anzalone, who kept the middle closed, and no Aidan Hutchinson, who is still seventh in quarterback pressures even though he hasn’t played since Week 6. And yes, the Lions’ defense is still top 10 in both passing yards and rushing yards allowed per game, but Richardson is a legitimate dual-threat quarterback.
The last time the Lions played against a legitimate dual-threat quarterback was in Week 2 against Kyler Murray’s Arizona Cardinals. In that game, Murray passed for 207 yards and rushed for 45 yards.
This isn’t a play that will make say a blended scotch taste like a single malt, Richardson will not suddenly be mad accurate, but he is an able replacement with Allen, Burrow, and Kirk Cousins unavailable.
Mat Play or Just Don’t Do It, D’Andre Swift, Running Back, Chicago Bears
I believe in Thomas Brown; I really do he was after all the hero of the Week on the Thursday Night Podcast
But I also believe that the Minnesota Vikings are allowing a league-low 74.4 rushing yards per game, and Swift is suffering from a groin injury.
This is a Vikings defense that just held Tony Pollard to 15 yards with a 1.4 average and neither Travis Etienne nor Jonathan Taylor had more than 50 rushing yards against them, Taylor averaged 3.7 yards per attempt while Etienne averaged four yards on 11 attempts.
So, play him if you must but look at it like it’s your last drunken option before (safely) heading home.
As we enter Thanksgiving Week, please know I am thankful for you, thank you for taking the time to consider my work.
