Last Call Week 13 Start Sit or Just Forget

I genuinely think that this Thanksgiving may be the one that calls for multiple shots! My DraftKings Thanksgiving slate BLOWS…the Chicago Bears don’t look like they are going to fire the most inept part of their team, Hello….

and I am almost certain that Sam LaPorta knows I sat him, and he hates me.

So, the appropriate shot for this week has to be a Mind Eraser, take note this shot can also be a cocktail, but if you make it as a cocktail (like we will) to get the full effect it must be drank through a straw, quickly.

Let’s just get to it, shall we?

Mind Eraser

You Will Need

2 ounces of Kahlua or a coffee liqueur

2 ounces of Vodka (dealers choice)

Chilled club soda, to top it off

You Will (for cocktail to be sucked down with a straw)

Ice-filled rocks glass

Add the Kahlua

Slowly (so it layers) add the vodka on top

Top it with club soda

Insert straw and quickly dispense with the concoction

Cheers!

Now for the premium and well choices that are the choice leftovers from our weekend that are already eight teams down and zero byes.

Premium Play, Quarterback, Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

This may be a *duh* moment or it may be time to pivot (for this game) from Saquon Barkley to Hurts. While Barkley continues on his mission of making the New York Giants look inept, dysfunctional, and foolish, *insert your description here* this week the Eagles will meet up with Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, and maybe a healthy Kyle Van Noy.

And while the Ravens’ defense does not install fear as it once did under Mike Macdonald, some of it is still potent as they are only allowing 3.5 yards per carry. They have not allowed a running back to rush for more than 70 yards against them this season.

Now for the better news if you are an Eagles fan, the Ravens are a pass funnel defense, per Next Gen Stats opposing quarterbacks have the third most passing attempts (470) against them, the third most touchdown passes (22) and they are giving up the most receptions (305).

Now Hurts hasn’t had more than 30 pass attempts since Week 4, when he had exactly 30 attempts against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (in the four games before that he had 34, 30, and 38 pass attempts). We know he is capable when pushed and with an implied total of 50.5, he may be pushed.

And it is lucky for all who are thinking Hurts that he has at his disposal A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert, and hopefully a healthy Devonta Smith.

Well Play, Will Levis, Quarterback, Tennessee Titans

I admit it, I am not a Levis fan, but this week it might be time to admit he is playing well enough (get it?).

For your consideration:

Week 11 against Minnesota, Levis went 17/31 for 295 yards with one touchdown and one interception. First, kudos on only one interception, and frankly, nice job against a Brian Flores defense.

Last week against the Houston Texans, who yes, are reeling, Levis went 18/24 for 278 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. In both weeks he did have at least 10 rushing yards, it’s not nothing.

In fact, since his return from injury he is third in yards per attempt (9.56) and fifth in passer rating (86.9 for the season) and since we are taking the good with the bad, he also has the 13th-highest turnover-worthy throw rate per fantasypros.com.

And now this week the Titans will play Washington who last week allowed Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush to not only beat them but do it to the tune of 247 yards and two touchdowns on 32 passing attempts with 24 completions.

Levis is reaching Jameis Winston status, he might not be great for his team, but he just might be pretty good for fantasy football purposes.

Mat Play, Or Teams/Players That May Have Thrown in the Towel?

This is just a friendly reminder that although we are talking about professional men here, there are a few teams who have players who are making ‘business decisions’ from here on out: like maybe the Las Vegas Raiders but not Brock Bowers play him, the Jacksonville Jaguars why would you put Trevor Lawrence on the field, and the New York Jets whose dysfunction is so monumental it eclipses Aaron Rodgers’ ego.

No judgment here…just your daily PSA that sometimes it is more beneficial to consider all the ramifications of one’s decisions.

And for your holiday toasts, “May we all have the chance to prove that money can’t make us happy!”
