Best MLB Picks: 4/14

Los Angeles Angels at Kansas City Royals
The Angels and Royals have split this series 1 game apiece. Both teams have yet to lose a series this year and one will have to break that streak. The Angels are now 7-4 and will send out Canning to the mound. His first start lasted 5 innings in which he gave up 3 hits, 4 runs, 2 HR, 1 BB, and 7 Ks.
To take game 3 of the series, the Royals will counter with Keller who has been lit up this season like crazy. In two starts, he has lasted 4 2/3 innings which saw him give up 15 hits, 10 runs, 2 HR, 5 BB, and 3 Ks. He won’t last much longer in this league with stats like that.
The Angels are the favorite with a line of -130. The Angels are the better team and Keller doesn’t install a lot of confidence in bettors making the play Angels ML.
San Diego Padres at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Padres are the heavy favorite as Musgrove will follow up his no-hitter against his former team. The no-hitter will add motivation to perform and playing against his former team will add extra fuel to the motivational fire. Musgrove might be the hottest pitcher in the league right now. Through 15 innings he has let up only 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 HR, 0 BB, and 18 Ks.
The Pirates will attempt to out pitch Musgrove with Anderson who has been below average in his first two starts. Through 10 1/3 innings he let up 15 hits, 6 runs, 3 HR, 2 BB, and 12 Ks.
The Padres are a heavy favorite on the ML. Easy to see why. The Padres ML is high but worth laying, as well as the Padres -1.5.
Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets
The Mets have taken both games so in this series and will look to complete the sweep and go two games above .500. The Mets haven’t been overtly great in this series as much as the Phillies have been horrendous at the batters box. They will attempt the sweep with Peterson who will make his second start of the season. In his first start that lasted 4 innings, he has let up 7 hits, 6 runs, 2 HR, 3 BB, and 7 Ks.
The Phillies will give the nod to Wheeler to avoid a .500 record after starting out the season hot. Wheeler has been pretty solid so far this season. He has seen 11 2/3 innings in which he gave up 8 hits, 3 runs, 1 HR, 4 BB, and 14 Ks.
The Phillies are the slight -120 favorite to win. Peterson will be hard to trust given his lack of innings and number of hits he has given up. Look for Wheeler to show out and avoid the sweep. The play here is the Phillies ML.
