Chicago White Sox at Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals are starting to slide as they have won 1 only game this month. They are now looking at a 5 game losing streak after a four game sweep by the red hot Indians. The Royals, in my opinion, we’re vastly over-performing from preseason analysis and their bad starting rotation is starting show after being propped up by their excellent batting to start the season.
They will send out Keller (2-3) to kick this series off at home. Keller has been less than sensational so far seeing 22.1 innings while letting up 36 hits, 25 runs, 4 HR, 11 BB, and 16 Ks. He should buy the Royals batters a round at the bar next time out for giving him those two wins with numbers like that.
The White Sox are favored to make a decent run at the title this year. Fans and analysts alike have a lot stock and faith in this team. This team has a lot of upsides but it may be too soon to be thinking title. The White Sox are 16-13 and sit half a game ahead of the Royals in the AL Central. The White Sox are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Rodon (4-0) gets the nod from the manager to start. He has played lights out this season. He has seen 25 innings of action letting up only 7 hits, 3 runs, 1 HR, 9 BB, and 36 Ks. Some stellar numbers.
The White Sox are the -155 favorite to win game 1 of the series. The Sox have a serious pitching advantage and betting with Keller isn’t recommended. The Sox ML is the play but don’t be surprised if the Royals hit the +1.5.
Minnesota Twins at Detroit Tigers
The Twins have had a disappointing start to the season both hitting and pitching-wise. They now fall to 11-19 overall and have hit a three-game winning streak. They will need to do some soul searching In order to reach the playoffs again. The Twins will send out Shoemaker (1-3) to the mound. He has played 23 innings letting up 28 hits, 21 runs, 7 HR, 8 BB, and 14 Ks. He has an ERA of 7.83 and a whip of 1.57.
The Detroit Tigers are certainly having an awful season and no one is surprised. The Tigers are in full rebuild mode and it may take some time before they are relevant again. They will counter with Skuball (0-4) in game 1 of this series. He has played 22 innings letting up 23 hits, 16 runs, 8 HR, 14 BB, and 18 Ks with an ERA of 6.14 and a whip of 1.68.
The Twins are the favorite at -145. The Tigers will not be listed as favorites too often this season. The pitching is relatively even given both have had bad starts to the season. The Twins have a massive batting advantage and I suggest riding the Twins ML.
