Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics

The Astros have been on a tear recently and have extended their win streak to 6 games. They improve to 24-17 overall and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Astros have already swept the A’s this season and will send out Javier (3-1) to the mound to try and do it again. He has played 38.0 innings and had let up 23 hits, 13 runs, 4 HR, 14 BB, and 44 Ks. Some pretty solid numbers.

The A’s are also some playing some great baseball as the season continues on. They remain a half game ahead of the Astros in the AL West. The A’s are 25-17 overall and are 6-4 in the last 10 games.

The A’s will counter with Manea (3-2) to break the Astros streak. Manea has seen 43.0 innings of play letting up 46 hits, 22 runs, 6 HR, 9 BB, and 45 Ks. The number of hits is concerning but he mostly gets out of the jam. 7 of those runs came from his last outing against Boston.

The A’s are the favorite to win with a line of -115. The Astros have the pitching advantage but clearly, Vegas is betting that the Astros are due to break their winning streak any day. This is why I’m taking the A’s ML.
