New York Mets at Miami Marlins

The Marlins are riding high off their first two victories in the series as they go for the sweep. The Marlins are showing that they have plenty to build off for next season as they improve to 46-61 on the season and are now 5-5 in their last 10 games.

The Marlins will send Thompson (2-4) to the mound. Thompson has played 38.2 innings of action with 41 Ks and 14 BB while maintaining an ERA of 2.33 and a WHIP of 1.09.

The Mets division lead is slowly slipping away from them as they are now only a couple of games ahead. They suffered 3 straight loses as they slide to 55-51 on the season and are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

To get back on the right track, they will give the nod to Carrasco (0-0). Through only 4.0 innings he didn’t do terrible as he has 4 Ks and 1 BB and had an ERA of 2.25 and a WHIP of 1.00.

The Mets are the -165 ML favorites in game 3. The Mets haven’t been destroyed by the Marlins and aren’t finding a way to win either. However, I believe they get it making the Mets ML the play.

San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks

As I am writing this, the Diamondbacks are up 3-1 in the 7th. The Diamondbacks have been atrocious this season and it’s hard to believe that things will be any different next year. If the Dbacks hold onto the lead, then they will split the series.

In game 3, the Dbacks will send out Gallen (1-5) to attempt to take the series away from the scorching hot Giants. Gallen hasn’t been too bad through 56.2 innings with 69 Ks and 27 BB while averaging an ERA of 4.61 and WHIP of 1.36. Give the guy some batting support.

The Giants are the surprise team of the year with a record of 67-39 and sit on top of the tightly contested NL West. A lot of analysts had this team at the middle of the pack but they refuse to bow to the Dodgers and Padres.

The Giants will send out Gausman (9-5) who is having himself a season. Through 126.1 innings, he has 149 Ks while only walking 39 batters while maintaining an ERA and WHIP of 2.35 and a WHIP of 0.95.

The Giants are the favorite with a line of -175 which is good considering they have the pitching advantage and are facing one of the worst teams in the league. The Giants get it done.
