Buy and Sell These Dynasty Fantasy Players Now (Week 3)
Why are you the way that you are? I hate so much about the things you choose to be. Yes, I’m talking to Week 2 of the NFL. Here is a look at last week’s dynasty buys and sells. And now, on to another week of dynasty trading! Here are a new crop of players to be buying and selling heading into Week 3.

WHY: Uncertainty Of Next Team
Akers is bound for another NFL backfield, whether it be via trade or release and signing. For a dynasty buyer this leads to optimism and for a dynasty seller it is just the reason to send him packing.
Per Jordan Schultz, four teams cited as showing interest in Akers include the Buccaneers, Ravens, Raiders and Browns. All four teams have reason to add to their RB depth, whether it be due to a lack of production or injury.
The important question is, what Cam Akers are we getting? Is it the RB that averaged 21.6 fantasy points over the last three weeks of the 2022 season or is it the plodding runner who couldn’t muster 10 fantasy points on 22 rush attempts in Week 1?
Feed into your fellow dynasty manager’s pessimism that Akers is no better than the 1.3 yard per attempt he sported in Week 1. With the volatility of the RB position in fantasy, Akers is worth a minor investment.
Tutu Atwell (WR-Los Angeles Rams)
WHY: Snap Share & Lack Of Competition
Two Rams in a row and neither is named Puka? Yes, Tutu Atwell has produced well for dynasty managers with Cooper Kupp on the IR.
Atwell posted the second-most and first-most WR snaps in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively. While Puka Nacua led the target share with 39% in both weeks, Atwell was firmly in in second with 22% and 18%.
The anticipated beneficiary of Kupp’s absence, Van Jefferson, has swapped snaps with Atwell from Week 1 to Week 2. Further, Jefferson saw his target share nearly cut in half from 14% to 8%.
Every season is littered with PPR machines like Atwell that finish as WR-24 through WR-36 with weekly flex upside. At the cost, Atwell is a worthwhile investment for the dynasty manager at the deepest position in dynasty fantasy football.
Don’t be a height supremacist like Jenny from The League, and go get Tutu Atwell. With Stafford firing on all cylinders and Kupp still on the IR, Atwell should prove an affordable dynasty addition who could slot into your flex spot.

SELL THAT

WHY: Next Man Up Doesn’t Mean Same Man Up
First, let’s take a moment to send positive thoughts to Nick Chubb after a truly horrific injury.
From a redraft perspective Ford’s value is readily apparent; however, dynasty is a different animal entirely. Outside of a surefire, playoff-bound dynasty manager in need of an RB, the dynasty managers should look to sell Ford.
Ford’s usage in Week 1 with a healthy Nick Chubb was encouraging, as he played on 42% of snaps versus Chubb’s 47%. In Ford’s 15 rushing attempts he was largely ineffective with 36 yards (2.4 yards per attempt).
While Ford improved his rushing efficiency in Week 2 with 6.6 yards per attempt over 16 attempts, this included a 69-yard rush. If the long run is viewed as an outlier, Ford ends up with merely one more yard than his Week 1 performance. This does not discount Ford’s ability to break off the long run; however, he has not had enough opportunity to indicate that he can do it with regularity.
When looking at Ford for the remainder of the season, it is tough sledding with six top-10 rushing defenses from a yards per attempt perspective. And that excludes playing the Ravens twice, who are 11th in fewest yards per attempt through two weeks.
As the Browns sort out what their offense will look like for the remainder of the season, sell Ford before going up against a stiff Tennessee Titans rush defense.
DJ Moore (WR-Chicago Bears)
WHY: Lackluster Passing Attack
It pains me to put a former Carolina Panthers WR as a sell, but the passing attack in Chicago is not a worthwhile investment. Justin Fields is tied for the second-most sacks through two weeks and is ranked in the bottom half of the NFL in passing attempts, completion percentage and yards per attempt. Unfortunately an offseason of acquisitions and hope has led to familiarl disappointment for the Bears, amidst growing disdain for the play calling by new OC Luke Getsy.
Moore has dealt with inconsistent QB play in underwhelming offenses during his time in Carolina. Historically Moore has made the best of it, finishing as a mid-to-late WR-2 in fantasy every year except for his rookie year (2018). This consistent level of production is being tested by an offense that appears to be no more fantasy-friendly than what he was accustomed to in Carolina.
Moore has averaged over seven targets per game over his career and is closer to half that through his first two weeks in Chicago. Despite being the clear leader of the Bears WR group, the ceiling for Moore’s fantasy production is more drop than vaulted.
