Gerrit Cole
Cole seems overpriced on DraftKings on Friday, but I also think he’s the top option. Cole has averaged 35.8 DK points over his first two games and put up 36.8 against the same Texas Rangers team he’ll face on this slate. I’m not sure whether Cole will make my lineups due to his price, but he’s pitched incredibly well his first two starts striking out 22 batters in 14 innings. He’s at least in consideration for tournaments.
Jacob Faria
Faria will face the Phillies who take a huge park hit traveling to Tropicana Field. The Phillies will add a DH, but will still have strikeouts in their lineup. The Phillies strike out 25.6% of the time, third highest rate in the league. Faria has struggled to start the year, but both of his games have come against the Red Sox, who are one of the best offenses in the league and a team that doesn’t strike out often. The Phillies are not as intimidating of an offense, so Faria should find some success on Friday. Faria is a bargain at only $5,800 on DraftKings.
Eduardo Rodriguez
For tournaments, Rodriguez is one of my favorite plays. He’ll pitch at home and is a large favorite against the Orioles. The Orioles have the highest strikeout rate in the league this year, and strike out 25.4% of the time against lefties. They can plug plenty of righties into the lineup, making this play risky for cash games, but an upside play in tournaments.

Hitters
Mike Trout is the top option again!
Robinson Cano/Kyle Seager
Cano and Seager will face Andrew Triggs in Safeco Field. They’ll both have the platoon advantage and will bat in the top five of the order. Seager is only $3,100 on DraftKings, so he’ll fit into the value category while building lineups. Cano is priced fairly at $4,500, but is still in play. The Mariners have a team run total of only 4, but that seems low so I will have at least some exposure to the Mariners in tournaments, hoping they go over their total.
Brandon Belt
Belt will face Tyson Ross in Petco Park. He’ll have the platoon advantage, and Ross struggles a bit against lefties. Belt has enjoyed a good lineup position recently, so if he’s batting in the top three of the lineup, he’s a great way to save money at first base. With Ross on the bump, there’s also an outside chance at a stolen base for Belt.
Yankees Bats
The Yankees will face Mike Fiers who has been plagued by the home run ball throughout his career. The Yankees come with plenty of power built into their lineups, and are fairly priced. I’m considering three Yankees (Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge, and Gary Sanchez) in my cash games lineups, but I like a full Yankees stack in tournaments.
