Clayton Kershaw

Kershaw is an elite option on Wednesday. He’s the biggest favorite I’ve seen this season, and has an OTT (see pitcher chart) of two runs. TWO. The Marlins are a pitiful offense with the worst wRC+ in the majors. Kershaw will top projections on Wednesday, and I don’t think it will be close, but he costs $14,000 on DraftKings. It will be difficult to pay that much, even for Kershaw in this spot.

Zack Greinke

Greinke will face the Phillies in Citizens Bank Park. He has an OTT of 3.5, one of the lower OTTs on the slate. Citizens Bank Park is a great park for strikeouts, so Greinke has some upside. The Phillies strike out 25.8% of the time, fourth highest in the league.

Jake Arrieta

Arrieta will also pitch in Citizens Bank Park, and has strikeout upside. The Diamondbacks strike out 25.9% of the time, third highest rate in the league. Also with a 3.5 OTT, Arrieta should be able to limit runs. Arrieta and Greinke will project similarly, but Arrieta is cheaper, so he’s the preferred play. For $8,500, Arrieta is a solid SP2 and a possible pair with Kershaw if enough value opens up.

Hitters

Joey Gallo

Gallo is one of the most frustrating players to choose in cash games because of his strike out rate. At the same time, his power allows him to reach cash game value with one swing of the bat. If you’re ok with variance and can live with a potential zero, Gallo is one of the best values on the slate. He’ll face Kendall Graveman and the Rangers have a healthy team run total of 4.5 runs. Gallo struggles with strikeouts, but Graveman doesn’t strike out many batters. For this reason, I think Gallo has added value today, compared to a day where he’s facing a pitcher with a higher strikeout rate. I’ll live with the frustrations of a potential zero, and take Gallo as an upside value play in my cash games on Wednesday.

Orioles Bats

After yesterday’s game was postponed due to rain, the Orioles will face Jacob Faria today in Camden Yards. Faria is taking a huge park hit, and the Orioles have a team run total of 4.5. There aren’t many great games to stack on the main slate, so the Orioles have become one of my favorites. Manny Machado is the top option on the team, but Pedro Alvarez is the best value option. Chris Davis and Trey Mancini are also on my radar for tournaments, but are not in my current cash game build.

Mariners Bats

If you’re playing the early slate, stack up the Mariners bats. They are insanely cheap considering they’ll face James Shields and have a team run total of 5.5 runs. Nelson Cruz, Dee Gordon, Robinson Cano, Jean Segura, and Kyle Seager are all in my current cash game build. Their prices range from $3,600 to $4,300 which is more than reasonable considering their situation.
