Corey Kluber
Kluber will face the White Sox in Progressive Field. He is the biggest favorite of the day and has the lowest OTT. His $12,600 price tag on DraftKings is more than reasonable, so I’m strongly considering Kluber in cash games. The White Sox have a high strikeout rate (25.5%) and Kluber is one of the top strikeout pitchers on the slate. Kluber has tournament-winning upside and a high floor for cash games.
Michael Wacha
Wacha will face the Phillies in Citizens Bank Park. He’s a slight underdog, but will face a Phillies team with the second highest strikeout rate in the league. He gave up eight ER against the Cubs in his last start, but prior to that game, Wacha had been fantastic. He averaged 24.8 DK points per game in his five starts before the blow-up game against the Cubs. His price was all the way up to $10,000, but on Wednesday, we get him at $7,800. Wacha is one of the top SP2 options on the slate.
Jake Arrieta
Arrieta is the favorite in the matchup against Wacha and the Cardinals. He also costs $1,000 less than Wacha. Arrieta’s issue is the lack of strikeouts this season. He’s had six games this season with two or fewer strikeouts while recording more than five strikeouts just twice. At his price, I still think he is a viable SP2 for cash games, but I’m not sure he has the upside for tournaments.

Hitters
Coors Bats
Rockies bats exploded last night and if you didn’t have them, you probably didn’t cash. The Rockies and Mets will face off again and each team has a team run total of 5.5. Stacking these teams in tournaments is a quality strategy, but they have all been priced up to make a stack difficult for cash games. I prefer Rockies bats to Mets bats tonight, starting with Charlie Blackmon. Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story are part of the second tier of bats from this game. Todd Frazier leads the third tier, but has been extremely cold recently. I just won’t play him over Arenado, and there are cheaper third base options I prefer to play. Finally, Michael Conforto, Carlos Gonzalez, Brandon Nimmo, and Wilmer Flores fill out the third tier of options. If the batting order places a value bat in a good lineup position, that player will certainly be in play as well.
Joey Gallo
Gallo will face Jakob Junis in Kauffman Stadium. It’s a difficult stadium to hit home runs in, so Gallo is strictly a tournament play, but one I’m thrilled to roster. Junis has allowed 1.9 HR/9 this season, and Gallo will have the platoon advantage. Of the top five home run projections today, Gallo is the cheapest by over $1,000 on DraftKings. He’s a high-upside tournament play at a value price.
Teams/Players in good spots
Yankees bats vs. Felix Hernandez
Mike Moustakas/Royals vs. Austin Bibens-Dirkx
Bryce Harper/Juan Soto/Daniel Murphy vs. Andrew Cashner
