Jacob deGrom

DeGrom was the cash game chalk on Friday until it was announced he would miss his start for personal reasons. He’s scheduled to pitch Saturday instead, and will have the same nice matchup against the Marlins. The Marlins have the tenth highest strikeout rate and the third lowest wRC+. At $13,600, he’s expensive, but should project for 24-27 DK points which would be good enough for cash games.

Chris Sale

Sale will face the Yankees in Yankee stadium. Nothing about the matchup is great, but there are a few strikeout bats in the Yankees lineup. Sale is such a talented pitcher that I consider him every time he pitches. At $13,000 on DraftKings, I would expect his ownership would be lower than deGrom, but Sale has just as much upside, if not more. I’m considering Sale for cash games, and he’s one of the best tournament plays of the day.

Felix Hernandez

Hernandez will face the Royals in Safeco Field. He has an OTT of 3.5, one of the lowest of the day. He’s also one of the biggest favorites of the day, so he has a decent shot at the win. The Royals have the lowest strikeout rate in the league, but a lot of that has to do with their home ballpark. Safeco Field is one of the best parks for strikeouts, so it will give Hernandez a boost. The Royals have the worst wRC+ in the league, so as long as Hernandez can pick up 6-7 strikeouts, he’ll be in a great position to return value.
